There is rattling noise in the dashboard area that is evident when driving 55+ mph. The noise started in the middle of the dashboard. I took it in for service and was told it was a known air bag issue. After servicing the issue has recurred but has moved to the driver side dashboard area. If this is a known issue, I'd like to know to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive and that the airbag won't deploy while I'm driving. My car has been at the dealership in the service department for 9 days now. No update has been provided; which in itself is alarming.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

TELEMATICS CONTROL UNIT RESET AFTER AUTOMATIC COLLISION NOTIFICATION SERVICE INFORMATION The Telematics Control Unit (TCU) has the ability to send an automatic collision notification when the vehicle is involved in an accident. Once an automatic collision notification is performed, the function becomes disabled and the TCU must be reset to re-enable the automatic collision notification function. Some models will store DTC B2E1B-97 (Automatic eCAll locked) as “CURRENT” when this function is disabled. This bulletin describes how to reset the TCU after an automatic collision notification has been performed. For models with B2E1B-97 (Automatic eCAll locked) set as “CURRENT”, complete the SERVICE PROCEDURE starting on page 2, and then erase DTCs after confirming TCU condition is “UNLOCK”.

B2E01-96 (INTERNAL BATTERY) DTC STORED AS CURRENT IN IVC SERVICE INFORMATION CONSULT has been updated to allow DTC B2E01-96 (Internal battery) to be cleared in the Telematics Control Unit (TCU). If DTC B2E01-96 is Current/Active in the TCU, and no additional Current/Active DTCs are present in the TCU, perform the SERVICE PROCEURE starting on page 2.

SERVICE INFORMATION FOR FUEL GAUGE INACCURATE WITH DTCS STORED IN ECM SERVICE INFORMATION If a fuel level sensor has been diagnosed as sending an incorrect level signal, and one or more of the following DTCs are stored in the ECM, do not replace the entire “Fuel Level Sensor Unit, Fuel Filter and Fuel Pump Assembly” (fuel pump assembly). The fuel level sensor can be replaced separately.  P0460 (FUEL LEV SEN SLOSH)  P0461 (FUEL LEVEL SENSOR)  P0462 (FUEL LEVL SEN/CIRC)  P0463 (FUEL LEVL SEN/CIRC) NOTE: Warranty claims referring to fuel level issues that result in the replacement of the entire fuel pump assembly will be charged back.
