2021 Intech Custom Trailer Owner Complaints

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

The contact owns a 2021 Intech Custom Trailer. The contact stated while the trailer was parked, the contact noticed that the front driver's side tire was worn out on the inside of the wheel. The trailer was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a driver's side fractured axle. The contact was informed that the front driver's side axle needed to be replaced. The trailer was not repaired. The contact related the failure to an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

UNKNOWN There have been a few incidents of the welds on the axle and body frame failing and the axle separating during towing. These incidents happened to the owners of the RVs specifically the 2021 make and model Intech Sol Horizon. These owners reports their incidents on the Facebook page "The Official Intech Sol Horizon" group. Intech RV (The Manufacture) have been contacted and showed pictures of welds and responded that the welds are "completed correctly." I am not a certified welder or structural engineer, but several owners have the welds inspected by certified welders and was told that the welds are not sufficient. I'm reporting this on the behave of all the 2021 Intech Sol Horizon owners as it poses a safety risk on the owners and others around them. Based on the incidences that have occurred, the welds can fail at anytime. Attached are some pictures of weld failures, original welds that comes from the manufactures, welds that have been reinforced by third-party certified welders.
