The defect: NAVISTAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2011 INTERNATIONAL 3200IM, AND MODEL YEAR 2007-2011, IC BUS MODEL HC BUSES, MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 16, 2004, THROUGH MAY 13, 2010. WHEN THE BUS KNEELING FEATURE IS ACTIVATED, THE REAR BRAKE LINE MAY BE PINCHED BY A FRAME MEMBER CAUSING THE REAR BRAKES TO DRAG.
The risk: BRAKES THAT DRAG COULD OVERHEAT AND MAY LEAD TO A FIRE, WHICH MAY CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH.
The remedy: NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSTALL A CLIP TO ENSURE THAT THE BRAKE LINE CANNOT BE PINCHED. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 27, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 1-800-448-7825.

The defect: NAVISTAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2003 THROUGH 2010 INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS AND IC COMMERCIAL BUSES MANUFACTURED FROM DECEMBER 4, 2001 THROUGH DECEMBER 14, 2009 EQUIPPED WITH INTERNATIONAL VT365 ENGINES HAVING ENGINE CALIBRATION PAN2PVR0, PAN2PVR1, OR PAN2PWR. THE ENGINE NORMALLY RESPONDS TO A FAILED OPEN ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT FAULT BY RETURNING THE ENGINE TO LOW IDLE SPEED OF 800 RPM AND DISABLING THE DRIVER'S ABILITY TO INCREASE THE ENGINE SPEED. HOWEVER IF THE OPEN CIRCUIT CORRECTS ITSELF WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF INITIATION, ENGINE SPEED COULD SUDDENLY INCREASE TO A HIGH IDLE SPEED OF 1200 RPM.
The risk: THIS INCREASE TO HIGH IDLE SPEED MAY OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING A SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED SHIFT IN VEHICLE POSITION POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY, OR DEATH.

The defect: NAVISTAR HAS NOTIFIED NHTSA ABOUT A DEFECT IN CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 AND 2011 IC CE, HC, AND BE COMMERCIAL BUSES AND INTERNATIONAL 1300, 3200, 3300, 4100, 4200, 4300, 4400, AND MXT TRUCKS MANUFACTURED FROM NOVEMBER 19, 2003 THROUGH FEBRUARY 9, 2010. THE PARKING BRAKE MAY RELEASE IF THE BRAKE SYSTEM ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) SOFTWARE MISINTERPRETS INPUT SIGNALS GENERATED FROM CYCLING THE IGNITION SWITCH MORE THAN ONCE AT A SPECIFIC FREQUENCY.
The risk: RELEASE OF THE PARKING BRAKE MAY CAUSE SUDDEN, UNEXPECTED SHIFT IN VEHICLE POSITION POSSIBLY RESULTING IN PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL DAMAGE, OR DEATH.
The remedy: NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES BY REPROGRAMMING THE VEHICLE'S BRAKE SYSTEM ECU FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 14, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 1-260-461-1890.

ODI became aware of three bus fires that originated in the area of the transmission on the subject vehicles through media reports.Inspection of the vehicles indicated that the static parking brake, which is located behind the transmission, may have been applied as a result of an air leak while the vehicles were in motion.Under certain driving conditions, the parking brake can apply without the audible driver warning engaging.Parking brake application while the vehicle is in motion may result in a fire.To address the concerns of this investigation, Navistar has issued a recall (12V-479) that will add a switch to detect parking brake lever movement while the vehicle is in motion (in addition to the existing switch that monitors brake line air pressure) and set an additional warning light to warn the driver of application of the parking brake.Navistar's recall actions address the issues raised by this investigation and as a result this investigation is closed.

As files are added or removed, the comparison runs automatically with no manual action required. The program presents results in an interactive table that shows feature codes, descriptions, access levels, and whether each feature is present in each selected file. Built-in search, filtering, and sorting make it easy to locate specific features or focus only on differences between files. Column visibility can be customized to show or hide descriptions and access information as needed. Users can remove files individually or clear all files at once, with results updating instantly. In some geographic areas, ambient temperatures reaching below 15°F (-10 °C), including high levels of humidity, an operator may experience engine stalling, low performance, and or poor aftertreatment performance. This is caused by condensation accumulating and freezing within the Charge Air Cooler (CAC); affecting air flow into the engine. This article lists all the currently available winter front covers that can be installed on the front grille and bumper to reduce cold air flow to the engine compartment.
