The defect: NAVISTAR IS RECALLING 51,588 HEAVY TRUCKS, COMMERCIAL BUSES AND SCHOOL BUSES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN NOVEMBER 21, 2000 AND MAY 21, 2008, EQUIPPED WITH ONE OR MORE REMOTE POWER MODULES. THE POTTING MATERIAL THAT ENCAPSULATES THE CIRCUIT BOARD OF THE VEHICLE'S REMOTE POWER MODULE MAY NOT SUFFICIENTLY SEAL THE CIRCUIT BOARD FROM WATER AND CONTAMINATION INTRUSION. IF THE ENCAPSULATION IS COMPROMISED, WATER AND CONTAMINANTS MAY CAUSE AN INTERNAL ELECTRICAL SHORT, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE.
The risk: A FIRE COULD CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.
The remedy: NAVISTAR WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPAIR THE VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 10, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 1-280-461-1890.

The defect: ON CERTAIN CHASSIS, TRUCKS, AND TRACTORS EQUIPPED WITH AIR BRAKES, THE PUSH ROD THAT CONNECTS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE BRAKE VALVE WAS MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY AND COULD BREAK UNDER CERTAIN LOADING CONDITIONS.
The risk: IF THIS PUSH ROD BREAKS WHILE A VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION, A PARTIAL LOSS OF SERVICE BRAKING MAY BE EXPERIENCED. THIS COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PUSH RODS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 3, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 INTERNATIONAL 4000. THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE SHIFTS WITH OR WITHOUT WEIGHT BEING APPLIED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CANNOT PLACE ANYTHING HEAVY ON THE VEHICLE, AND IT HAS NEARLY FLIPPED OVER SEVERAL TIMES AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. HE PAID THE DEALER $2,000 TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTS. THE FAILURE IS DUE TO HOW THE BODY IS ATTACHED TO THE FRAME. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 280.

This is caused by condensation accumulating and freezing within the Charge Air Cooler (CAC); affecting air flow into the engine. This article lists all the currently available winter front covers that can be installed on the front grille and bumper to reduce cold air flow to the engine compartment.
