2001 Isuzu N-Series Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

MY 2001 ISUZU RODEO HAS DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE. I AM FORTUNATE AND BLESSED NOT TO HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED. I ROLLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. NOW,THE CAR IS INOPERABLE. THE NEXT PERSON MIGHT NOT BE SO FORTUNATE. WHY WON'T THE MANUFACTURER DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THESE CARS ARE NOT OF GOOD QUALITY AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. IT'S A SHAME THAT SOMEONE HAS TO LOOSE A LIFE FOR ACTION TO BE TAKEN. *JB

I HAVE A 2001 RODEO, I WORKED VERY HARD TO GET THAT CAR I WAS VERY PROUD OF IT. IT HAD ONLY 66 THOUSAND MILES ON IT. I TOOK GOOD CARE OF IT. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED EVERY 3 THOUSAND MILES. ONE TIME AFTER THE OIL WAS CHANGED I CHECKED IT AND THE DIP STICK READ NO OIL SO I PUT A GALLON OF OIL IN IT AND TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE. THE GUY WAS LIKE WHAT DID YOU DO I BET YOU ARE A GALLON OVER. SURE ENOUGH I WAS. HE SAID SOME TIMES IT WILL SAY THERE IS NO OIL IN IT WHEN THERE IS. MY SON CHECKED IT FOR ME A FEW TIMES AND THOUGHT I WAS OUT AND PUT A QUART IN. HE SAID THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY DIPSTICK. THE GUY AT THE GARAGE SAID IT WAS O.K. BECAUSE I GOT MY OIL CHANGED AT EVERY 3 THOUSAND MILES WITCH IS ABOUT ONCE A MONTH TO MONTH IN A HALF. WELL ANY WAYS I'VE HAD THE CAR ONE YEAR. I WAS COMING BACK FROM CANANDA AND THE MOTOR BLEW. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED 2 HUNDRED MILES TO THE BANGOR MAINE ISUZU DEALER. THEY TELL ME THAT THE WARRANTY IS NO GOOD BECAUSE I AM THE SECOND OWNER. I T WOULD HAVE BEEN WARRANTY UNTIL 50 THOUSAND MILES. THE REASON I BOUGHT THE CAR WAS BECAUSE I HAD A JEEP WITH OVER 200 THOUSAND MILES ON IT. I WAS AFAID THE MOTOR WAS GOING TO BLOW. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN DO. THEY WANT 6 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE MOTOR, AND I STILL OWE 11 THOUSAND DOLLARS ON IT.*AK

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
