TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 JAGUAR XJ12. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED A LEAK IN THE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK ALONG THE SEAM WELD. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE RADIATOR FLUID LEAKED AND THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. RECALL SERVICE # 5451 WAS FOUND ON AUTOZONE.COM (ALLDATA). THE DEALER WILL DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE ON JULY 13, 2007, PER THE RECALL NOTICE. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 71,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

THE SELF-LEVELING SUSPENSION SYSTEM FAILED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIPS, THERE IS NOT A REMEDY FOR THIS FAILED SYSTEM OTHER THAN TO REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME SYSTEM. JAGUAR MADE REPLACEMENTS KITS FOR THE XJ6 BUT NOT FOR THE XJ12

THIS IS A 12 CYLINDER ENGINE WITH ONLY 6 CYLINDERS WORKING. THIS CAUSED UNBURNED FUEL AND AIR TO BE PUMPED INTO THE FUEL EXHAUST SYSTEM, WHICH THEN OVERHEATED THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND STARTED A FIRE. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
