2013 Jayco Eagle Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2013 Jayco Eagle, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

WE WERE TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY IL45 IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS WHEN OUR DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE ON OUR FIFTH WHEEL CAMPER BLEW OUT. IT CAUSED NOT ONLY A BLOWN TIRE, BUT ALSO CAUSED THE STABILIZER BARS TO BREAK. WHEN SPEAKING TO SEVERAL VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE 5TH WHEEL OWNERS AND TIRE SERVICE DEALERS, WE HAVE LEARNED THAT THE TIRES PUT ON OUR CAMPER HAD BARELY MET U.S. LOAD/WEIGHT STANDARDS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE "POWER KING" BRAND (CHEAP, MADE IN CHINA), THAT WERE PUT ON OUR CAMPER. THE JAYCO EAGLE IS A VERY HEAVY CAMPER, THUS NEEDING HEAVY DUTY TIRES, NOT THE LIGHT-WEIGHT TIRES THAT WERE CAME WITH THE CAMPER. IF WE HAD BEEN GOING ANY FASTER, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, OR A HIGH-TRAFFIC AREA, A BLOWOUT COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS! WE WOULD LIKE JAYCO TO DO RIGHT BY THEIR CUSTOMERS AND REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES!
