I was driving on the NYS thru way with my family and my rear suspension coil came out while we were driving. The part was not rusted or looked defected. When I took it to the dealership they said a recall for this issue had been repaired in June of 2023 prior to me owning it. I purchased the vehicle on October of 2024. I called corporate and they said there is nothing they will do for me. I paid $500 to fix an issue that should have been completed properly. This is now a safety concern for me and I fear driving it will happen again.

The coil spring on the rear passenger side has become detached from my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited. I was unaware that it had happened when I started to drive and could hear something kind of bouncing around. When I got out of the vehicle to see what was going on, I could see that the rear of the car seemed unusually low. That is when I looked under and saw the spring dangling next to the tire. It could've caused a bad accident if it had gotten caught up in the tire or if it had completely detached and either hit another car or caused another car to hit it. The vehicle had a recall for this in 2023, before I owned it, and the status says "inspected" but not repaired. There was another recall early in 2026 for this same issue, but at this time, my vehicle is not part of that recall. However, it should be as this is a dangerous, scary issue that isn't immediately evident. I'm just grateful that I was in my neighborhood when it happened and not driving on the interstate at a high rate of speed, as there was nothing to indicate that it was imminently happening. It hasn't been inspected yet as it just happened but I will have it towed tomorrow to get inspected and repaired. It is underivable in its current condition.

The rear right coil spring and is available for inspection upon request. Spring failed while car was parked in driveway on flat ground, the car was driven with me and my 1 year old at highway speeds of 75mph. No warnings were displayed on dashboard. Never received an update of a recall and will not pull up when VIN is searched. Upon VIN search on MOPAR website original recall repair was done in 2023 which has failed. We did not know of this spring failure until arriving home and seeing it lie where I was parked. Earlier in the day a loud metal noise was heard but figured it came from passing traffic on highway. No one has inspected the vehicle yet, working on trying to get it towed since it is no longer safe to drive. Vehicles rear right tire is now pitched in at top towards rear wheel well. No warning or message was alerted to me.

The rear passenger side suspension coil fell out of my car in my driveway at less then 2 mph. The spring and rubber piece holding the spring in both fell to the ground with no damage done. The vehicle was towed to a jeep dealership where they confirmed there was no damage to any part of the vehicle, and it just fell out with no explanation. The dealer insists that we cannot reinstall the same sping, even though there is no damage to the vehicle or spring. If this would have happened at highway speeds, it could have been very dangerous for me or others around me. The dealer is currently making the repairs, but at my cost. There is currently a recall for this exact issue for my make/model/trim but for vehicles produced earlier in the year of 2023 (my vehicle is not covered). There was no warning lamps, messages or any symptoms of any failure prior to the spring falling from the vehicle.

Rear passenger coil spring popped out and became lodged in the tire while driving. We were driving on the Whitestone expressway and the car came to a resisted halt. This could have caused severe injury if I had not been in the lane and came to a slowdown to allow a car to merge in front of me. The highway traffic patrol man dislodged the fully intact coil from between the tire and tire well. There were no warning lamps, indicators, signs or symptoms. Initially I thought the tire popped which was strange as there was no pot holes or obstructions in the road.

My 2023 Jeep has had 2 recalls for rear suspension coil popping out while driving was inspected per manufacturer guidelines on 11/20/2025, approximately 7 months on 6/5/2026, after they “repaired” second recall for rear coil spring, the coil spring popped out when I was driving down the road. Took car to the dealership the vehicle has approximately 37,000 miles manufacturer claims since it was covered under the recall and “fixed” that I would have to pay 40% of the cost while they pay 60%. Manufacturer refuses to pay for repairs when this has been an ongoing issue. No warning lights came on the dash when this occurred. Made multiple attempts to contact manufacturer and was told that I would have to write a letter to the corporate office with my issue. The vehicle is still at the dealership awaiting repairs for this issue and currently has an active recall listed for the airbags.

I picked up my wife from the airport and I’m on 76 going home. As I am driving about to switch lanes I hear a pop, so I am thinking that I got a flat tire. As I pull over I check all my tires nothing is flat. I look under my car and I see that my rear suspension spring on the right side of my tire is hanging down. Now I am waiting for a tow, so I can take it back to the dealer.

The right rear coil spring on my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee dislodged and ejected from its mounted position while the vehicle was parked. The spring did not break; it came out intact. This vehicle previously had Recall 64A performed to address a rear coil spring-related safety issue. The recall had already been completed prior to this incident and marked as “complete” The failure occurred after the recall remedy, indicating a potential improper repair or incomplete resolution of the defect. The fact that the spring ejected while the vehicle was stationary raises serious concerns about improper installation or inadequate retention of the component. The contact owned a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 23V413000 (SUSPENSION) and 24V132000 (SUSPENSION, STEERING). The contact's wife stated that while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle wobbled, and an abnormal sound was coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact's wife was able to pull to the side of the road. It is unknown if any warning lights were illuminated. After a visual inspection, the contact's wife became aware that the control arm had detached, and the coil spring was on the ground. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the control arm and coil spring had detached from the vehicle. However, the dealer refused to perform the recall repairs, stating that since the contact's wife had struck an unknown object on the road, the recalls were voided. The contact stated that his wife had not struck an object while driving. The vehicle was taken to Jim Glover Dodge Chrysler, who refused to perform the recall repairs, that the vehicle had collided with an unknown object on the road and voided the recall repairs. The insurance company was notified and towed the vehicle to an auto body shop. The vehicle remained at the body shop unrepaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On August 18, 2025, the rear suspension coil detached and fell off in my driveway. I had the vehicle repaired at an authorized Jeep dealership. However, on **August 31, 2025 — just 13 days later — the exact same coil spring detached again, this time while I was driving at freeway speeds.This is a severe safety hazard that could have caused a catastrophic accident. The defect is identical to NHTSA Recall No. 23V413000 (Chrysler Recall 64A), which addresses rear coil springs detaching while driving. Despite my vehicle being the same year, make, and model as those included in the recall, my VIN is not currently covered. Given that the defect has now occurred twice on my vehicle, including immediately after a dealer repair, I strongly believe this safety recall should be expanded to include additional VINs, including mine.

This vehicle had a recall for rear tire suspension popping off the vehicle. While my vehicle was parked in my driveway the rear suspension coil popped off the rear of my vehicle as described in the recall. I then took the vehicle to the dealership they first gave me the run around for a couple of days then when they could not explain why the diagnostic test came back as failure for unknown reasons I argued that they had nothing else to relate the issue to as there was no signs of anything else. After days of back and forth they finally agreed to fix it under the recall. Upon receiving the vehicle back they refused to give me any paperwork or reciept for the incident and stated they would email it it to me. I never received anything. Also when I went under the vehicle to check the work done I can see they replaced it with the original type of parts and did not give me updated parts like they claim they did. Again I have no paperwork to show what they did.

Our rear passenger spring coil flew off while driving down the HWY going 71miles per hr. We didn’t hit anything in road or pit hole, we were just driving and heard a loud pop and felt the back end drop. This car is factory equipped with Continential Cross Contact tires that wear on the inside on all 4 tires, specifically the inner tread lugs caused by the Jeep self adjusting air ride suspension. This a safety hazard from multiple manufacturing defects and suspension problems that affecting traction and handling.
