2013 Kawasaki Concours 14 Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Our database holds 3 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2013 Kawasaki Concours 14. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.

BRAKES BECAME WARPED AT AROUND 5500 MILES. THIS IS EXTREMELY LOW MILES FOR BRAKES TO WARP. IT CAN BE FELT WHEN SLOWING FROM INTERSTATE SPEEDS WHEN EXITING THE INTERSTATE. BIKE IS LESS CONTROLLABLE, HANDLE BARS WOBBLE, AND THE BRAKING IS LESS. PER THIS BIKES SPECIFIC FORUMS, NEWER KAWASAKI CONCOURS 14S HAVE THIS ISSUE.THERE ARE MANY "THREADS/POSTS" OF THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE THAT ITS VERY DANGEROUS. AND ALTHOUGH MY BIKES BRAKES WARPAGE IS LIGHT NOW - IT WILL CONTINUE TO GET WORSE, AND AT THIS TIME THE DEALER DOESN'T THINK ITS AN ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THEY COULD FEEL IT WHEN THEY TEST DROVE IT. I THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE BIKE AND THE QUALITY OF THE OEM BRAKE PADS/ROTORS (BRAKE SYSTEM). *TR

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
