What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2024 Kenworth T680, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Interior & seats
Reports naming seats, latches, locks, linkages and interior fittings.
From owner reports, verbatim
Driver seat back is defective and will not support driver properly. The seat back will bend and twist if pressure is applied to it. Putting the driver in an unsafe driving position where the torso is contorted. Four out of four trucks have the same issue with this OE seat. There is no advance warning of when the seat will fail. The issue has been discussed with Kenworth and no resolution has been found as of this time. We have four tractors that are having this same issue, the corresponding VIN numbers are: [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] . With the issue occurring on all four of our trucks, we believe this is not an isolated issue and is common with this OE seat. The defect has occurred under light use with no involvement in an accident, which leads to the belief that in an actual emergency it would fail completely. Tires & wheels
Reports naming tires, wheels, hubs, or the tire-pressure monitoring system.
From owner reports, verbatim
Tread of the tire delaminated, similar to what a recap would do. This happened at 43,476 miles +or- the first time. This incident occurred In Anton, Texas. My driver got stopped safely and the tire was still inflated. Moved the truck about a 100 yards to be in safer spot and the tire then went flat. Had tire replaced with Identical tire by Loves of Lubbock, TX. Had driver bring the bad tire in, as had never seen in 18 years in business a tire do this. I have tire in my possession. At 53, 456 miles, right at 10,000 miles the newly replaced tire, did the basic same thing. A 3" piece came out of the center of tire for the complete circumference of the tire. Driver got stopped safely. recovered the piece which was still in one piece. experiencing what we did before, I had him take pictures of the tire with it still inflated and had him check the air pressure with a gauge. Tire was at 130 lbs warm with our normal cold setting being 122-123. This incident occurred near Taft, CA so I learned of Tyack Tires and Had 2 new Michelins put on and had driver bring both tires off the front back along with the center piece. I have tire in my possession. My dealer sent tires and center piece to Goodyear for damage claims, as both times it destroyed the entire fender linings and headlight. Goodyear declined damages stating "Over Deflection", which is chronic underinflation, but that is not the case. I had request in writing for my tires to be returned along with the piece. They shipped tires back without the piece, I requested the piece again and received an email stating there was no piece. My dealer says it was sent to them that it was placed inside the tire that it came off of. I've been doing business with this dealer over 16 years, maybe closer to 18. I have pictures of the tires and piece and all damages. I had the same steer tires replaced on the twin to this truck, VIN ending in [XXX] , with new Michelins as well. I have 3 undamaged tires as well. All can be Inspected. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF IN

The contact owns a 2024 Kenworth T680. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle and pressing the wiper fluid button, the wiper fluid did not immediately spray, and the contact was unable to immediately clean the front windshield. The contact stated that after several attempts, the wiper fluid sprayer operated normally. Later, the front windshield wipers malfunctioned. The contact stated that when the front windshield wipers were activated in the continuous setting, the wipers were randomly delayed. Also, while activating the turn signal the wipers were erroneously delayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed an electrical short in the wiper and turn signal mechanism, and that the mechanism needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. The VIN was not available.
