2000 Keystone Montana Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

ARE TIRES WITH LT LEGAL TO INSTALL ON TRAILERS MOST EVERY THING I HAVE READ STATED TRAILERS SHOULD HAVE TIRES THAT STARTED WITH ST , THERE WERE TOO MANY TIRE FAILURES ON TIRES THAT HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ON TRAILERS THAT STARTED WITH LT, AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THEY WERE LEGAL.. LT TIRE 10 PLY HAS 2 PLY SIDEWALL, ST 10 PLY TIRE HAS 4 PLY SIDEWALL. CARDINAL RV MANUFACTURER FORREST RIVER HAS BEEN PLACING RENDA TIRES ON 5TH WHEELS FOR THIS REASON.. DETERMINED TIRE SIDEWALL FAILURES. KEYSTONE REPLACED ALL 5 TIRES ON 5TH WHEEL IN 2002 .NOW THEY WERE DENYING IT I HAD THE RECEIPT FOR THE TIME THEY DONE IT . I WANTED KNOW IF THESE LT TIRES WERE LEGAL TO PUT ON TRAILERS VERSA THE ST TRAILER TIRES. *AK

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
