The defect: KEYSTONE RV IS RECALLING 179 MY 2009 SPRINGDALE FIFTH WHEEL AND TRAVEL TRAILERS AND MY 2009 SUMMERLAND TRAVEL TRAILERS. THERE IS INCORRECT INFORMATION ON THE FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION TAG AND THE TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL WHICH FAILS TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THE TAG LISTS THE TIRE SIZE AS 205/75R14C AND IT SHOULD BE 205/75R15C.
The risk: THE PURPOSE OF THIS PART IS TO SPECIFY THE CONTENT AND LOCATION OF, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR, THE CERTIFICATION LABEL TO BE AFFIXED TO MOTOR VEHICLES TO ADDRESS CERTIFICATION-RELATED DUTIES AND LIABILITIES, AND TO PROVIDE THE CONSUMER WITH INFORMATION TO ASSIST HIM OR HER IN DETERMINING WHICH OF THE FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS ARE APPLICABLE TO THE VEHICLE.
The remedy: OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH CORRECTED LABELS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. IF AN OWNER SO DESIRES, THEY CAN HAVE THEIR DEALER INSTALL THE LABELS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 16, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KEYSTONE RV AT 1-866-425-4369.

Safety recall
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
