At this point its a matter of time there will be a separation or gap between the windshield and the roof and it will be unsafe and a disaster. I am the owner of a 2017 Range Rover Evoque (VIN: [XXX] ) purchased from Star Auto Works in March 2025 with approximately 56,000 miles. Within months of purchase, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic turbocharger failure, a critical powertrain component that renders the vehicle unreliable and potentially unsafe to operate. A turbocharger is engineered to last significantly longer than the mileage at failure. This type of premature breakdown strongly indicates a manufacturing defect rather than normal wear. As such, the circumstances raise substantial concerns regarding: Breach of the Implied Warranty of Merchantability — The vehicle was not reasonably fit for its ordinary purpose at the time of sale. Breach of Manufacturer Warranty Obligations — A failure of this magnitude warrants immediate manufacturer participation. Sale of a Vehicle Containing a Likely Pre-Existing Defect — The timing of the failure supports the conclusion that the condition existed prior to my purchase. I have made good-faith efforts to resolve this matter cooperatively. However, the financial burden of a major engine repair resulting from a premature failure is not one I am willing to absorb. My vehicle has a push button to start the vehicle, the gear shift suppose to rise upward from the console in order to turn for you proceed to travel and it never comes up. Making you stranded wherever you are. This has caused a great amount of stress. Having to call road side assistance, and waiting hours to get help, this feature on the 2017 Range Rover need great support and attention.

The timing chain went out, and it is a common problem with this same make and model of vehicle, and no recall has been issued. My safety was at risk because my car showed no warnings of breaking down, it was well maintained, and there was a manufacturing error that caused me to suddenly lose all power on a highway. I couldn’t make it to a safe area to pull over, and was stuck on the side of the highway for hours not understand why my car was not running

At just a little over 58k miles the vehicle started making metal noises while driving. The vehicle will jump into neutral while driving and this was very scary! There are no warning lights or any error codes. This was checked and confirmed by a LandRover dealership in Roanoke- no fault codes. I didnt drive for another few months. Next drive was from VA to KY and the vehicle did the same thing on the highway, I was able to pull over after having a panic attack and almost being hit by other vehicles that were moving! I didnt drive it for another few months. Drove the vehicle 3 weeks ago, the noises and the shift in neutral happened again and I had to pull off the side of the road. This time gearbox fault light came on. This is very scary, this vehicle should be high tech enough to show error codes or warning lights and absolutley nothing from diagnostic check. Now, I am nowhere close to a land rover dealership, called the manufacturer several times about recalls and or problems. I was brushed off and told there is nothing they can do. This is not only frustrating: This is dangerous! I had my family in this car and we could have been in a terrible accident due to no warning. The local mechanic still shows no stored error codes or issues. This is a danger and I have found this same issue in many forums. This should be a recall and the manufacturer should stand behind their work.

A few months ago, started smelling faint fuel, the smell gradually increased. Took it to Land Rover dealership was told there was a problem with fuel tank fiange and gasket that sits on top of the gas tank. Was advised there was a recall for the same problem on other models but not mine. Due to the nature of potential hazard (fire, explosion), I wanted to make sure this was documented.

Driving our car down the road. No engine lights or warnings and the engine powered down and the car came to a complete stop. Vehicle was a 2017 certified pre-owned which we have had for about three years. It has 61k miles and has always been serviced by the local land rover dealership. Vehicle was serviced by the landrover dealership two months prior to this incident and there was no recommended service for the engine. Towed the vehicle to the Land Rover dealership. They found the timing chain broke/came loose and now saying the engine is completely destroyed and we have to buy a new engine. Looking online there are multiple complaints and forums about timing chain issues and them causing complete engine failures. Seems like this is a factory defect that is not being addressed.

Catastrophic failure of all internal components. Recommended to replace engine. The car failed in the road while driving, powered down, and locked in Park. Jaguar Land Rover of Henderson Nevada diagnosed the issue. Active codes were found for: timing issues (timing belt replaced in 2022), low compression in all cylinders. There were no warning lights or previous issues before failure.

The rubber casing that circles the gear knob gave way and when the wheel came down once car was turned off. That rubber casing made gear wheel get stuck in the down position and now wheel won’t come up automatically like it’s supposed to when car is turned on. The cost is $1500 for a Reverse Gear Shaft: GEAR SHIFT OPERATION STUCK, because of this rubber casing. This is defective and I want this investigated Please.

The contact owned a 2017 Land Rover Ranger Rover. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH, she heard an abnormal clicking sound emanating from underneath the vehicle, after which the vehicle buckled to the right. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle and was only able to come to a complete stop after colliding with the curb. After a visual inspection of the vehicle, the contact observed that the front passenger side suspension was detached. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the front passenger side control arm had detached, asserting that the failure occurred due to the contact possibly driving over a pothole, which the contact disputed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's insurance provider deemed the vehicle a total loss. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V889000 (Suspension), but the VIN was not included. A police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 31,000.

About a month or so ago, it was raining and I got into my car to drive home from work. I only live about 1.5 miles down the road from my residence and this is the distance I drive (to and from) most days unless I have errands. I noticed I felt a drop of water on the top of my pant leg (mid thigh) but just thought it was where I was getting in the car and scraped against something. As we have had more rain the last couple of weeks, gradually I have noticed drops of water running (interior) down the windshield. Last week it started dropping pretty badly on my clothes and steering wheel so I immediately started wiping it up so that it didn't get inside the electronics. I also purchased a Damp Rid to put in the car until I can get it repaired. Other than driving it back and forth to work, to run errands around town and periodically to see my mother (who lives 30 miles away), the car is garage kept all other times. We don't even take it on vacation as we use my husband's vehicle. I have never had this problem before so I started researching online and noticed there were others having the same problem with Land Rover vehicles. In their experience, they contacted their local Land Rover dealer to take a look at the windshield seal and said it was just wear and tear. I realize my vehicle is now 7 years old (I purchased it in 2020 with 51K miles and it is a 2017 model and just rolled over to 64K miles) but it seems that it has happened too many times to others for it not to be a common denominator. I have not taken pictures but will be glad to submit them when I do. Was going to contact my insurance and local windshield repair company today as we do not have a local Land Rover dealer.

My SUV currently has 55K miles. The pin came out of the timing chain and the car stopped on a major bridge. The dealership charged me $4,294.24 to fix the vehicle. I thought this was surprising because cars should not have issues with the timing chain this early and below 100K miles. I did a search on the internet and found out there is a petition currently going on right now on change.gov. [XXX] The petition says "Make Jaguar Land Rover recall vehicles with potential timing chain issues." There are thousands of people like me who are experiencing this same issue and the dealerships are charging them thousands of dollars to fix the timing chain when it should actually be a "recall." Please investigate this issue with Jaguar Land Rover and make the issue with the timing chain a major recall. Around June of this year, my engine light came on. I took it to my technician, who cleared the code. After an accident on 7/4/23, and after picking the car up from being repaired, the engine light came on again. It is a code that indicates there is a "Cracked or faulty turbo charger". Extensive research has shown this to be a manufacturing defect, which can cause catastrophic failure. The manufacturer, Tata Motors is well aware of this problem and has been since 2011, yet they continued to build cars with this defect. The manifold that the turbo charger is attached to at the back of this transverse engine, has a weld across the entire top. A weld in a manifold of any kind is inappropriate and dangerous. The only option is to have a $6,000 repair done. This is unacceptable and I demand that Tata Motors issue a recall for the years affected.

The windshield is leaking water in the passenger side. I had to previously take then vehicle in for the same thing in 2019. 2023 it’s the same issue, this is unsafe for myself and my family. I took it to the same dealership that repaired it the first time and was told to call roadside assistance then they put tape on it.

See Bulletin N221: Windshield Water Leaks. This is a known Land Rover issue. Water will leak from the windshield as the seal is faulty. I have already had my windshield replaced once and I am experienced the same issue after a couple of years. Land Rover is not covering the full replacement of the windshield or addressing the problem at hand with the way the windshield is sealed.

As I was accelerating to enter I-495, The check engine light appeared and the engine lost all power and died. The the entire car lost power to include the engine, power steering and power brakes. There was a noise from the engine compartment and the transmission selector know dropped into a powered off position and would not raise up. There was no accident, but it was very close to being an accident. I was able to coast over to the shoulder, but was nearly hit from behind by a tractor trailer as I maneuvered to get out of of the travel lanes. The Range Rover dealer determined the cause to be a broken timing chain. This should not happen on a vehicle that was maintained per manufacture guidance and only had 67,536 miles. The engine had to be replaced.

First off, my VIN info on the first part of this form did not mention the my car is a convertible With that being said , the car was in my driveway in the rain ( I was working on the garage door so I parked it outside) Its the first time in been in the rain since I owned it. When I pulled it in from the rain I notes water sloshing in the back quarter cavities. My concern is submerged electrical , corrosion. The convertible has back sets and the floor boards are wet I know Land Rover is aware of the problem because they have a TECHNICAL BULLETIN about it (LTB01227NAS1) these letters and numbers was on top of the bulletin. I also went on line and noticed I was not the only Land Rover owner that has this problem. Because this is a convertible there is more reinforced steal on this car so corrosion after time can be a serious issue. The issue has to do with the Navigation System. It is so bad, it is dangerous. In Napa, CA the system was telling me to turn the wrong way on a one way street. In Nevada, it nearly took us off a cliff in the mountains. I have advised Land Rover of this issue, but they couldn't care less. I'm not sure if Navigation Systems falls in the safety recall category, but in this case I think it should. Land Rover's position is I can pay for a maps update (over $500), but still no guarantee this will resolve the issue. I'll happily provide you with more details if it will help you determine the dangers or risks into which this system puts its drivers. Someone should really care enough to look into this. I've never had a car with such a horrible Nav system.

The entire top of windshield is not secured to the vehicle. This was first noticed when water came into the interior cabin while being driven in the rain. Upon further inspection I've discovered even a slight push on the windshield, from the inside of the car, causes the windshield to raise up away from the vehicle. This happens along the entire top of the windshield from driver's side to passenger side of the vehicle. The dealer has inspected the vehicle and confirmed the fix for this is to replace the windshield. I've also made Jaguar Land Rover North America aware this issue is affecting my specific vehicle. They are already aware that this issue is happening - please reference Tech Bulletin N221NAS4 issued on March 20, 2020. However, there has not been a recall, and this repair is not considered a warranty item. There was a 2 month wait to have my vehicle looked at by the dealer, and now an expected 3 month wait for the new windshield to be installed. In the mean time, I believe this is a safety hazard because the windshield will not function properly in a crash. In addition, if driven in the rain, the water rolling down the inside of the windshield or pouring onto the steering wheel and seat of the driver presents a hazard. I have video of the water leaking into the vehicle and also of the windshield movement.
