The contact owns a 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine and low coolant warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder of the road. Upon further inspection, the contact became aware of a coolant leak under the vehicle. The coolant reservoir was refilled, and there was white smoke coming from under the hood. A local independent mechanic arrived on scene and scanned the vehicle with an OBD2 scanner, but a diagnostic fault code was not provided. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign: 23V221000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Safety Complaint Regarding Engine Oil Leak – Same Defect as Recall N763 (23V044000) Vehicle: 2019 Range Rover Sport | VIN: [XXX] Description of Problem: My vehicle is experiencing an oil leak from the engine area. Upon inspection by my mechanic/dealer, the failure was diagnosed as a blocked or improperly machined oil channel in the engine cam carrier, which is causing oil to leak externally. This is the exact component and failure mode described in Land Rover Safety Recall N763 (NHTSA Campaign 23V044000), which addresses a blocked engine cam carrier oil channel that can lead to an oil leak. Despite having the identical part failure on my vehicle, my VIN is not listed under the current recall scope. Safety Concern: I am extremely concerned about the fire risk. An oil leak in the presence of hot engine components or an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. I have already observed oil spots where I park and occasionally smell burning oil while driving. I believe the recall population should be expanded to include my vehicle, as the defect clearly exists outside the current VIN range. Actions Taken: I contacted a Land Rover dealer, but they refused to cover the repair because my VIN is not on the active recall list. Intermittent problem.The car while going forward with no warning slows down to around 20 to 30mph and cannot go faster when depressing the gas pedal. After pulling over to the side of the road, shutting down, opening the car door and restarting the car runs normally.

Constant loss of coolant, overheating. Coored. Crossover pipes replaces. Pressure tests to coolant system come back as normal, but vehicle requires frequent topping up and dashboard warning lights. Car overheated on highway requiring immediate stopping and tow. After removing starter, pooling found while under pressure on shield under turbo manifold. Exact location of leak is tbd. These repairs should be covered by a recall for how frequently they occur. The MHEV turbo is generating too much heat for all of the plastic parts.

On Monday, October 28, 2024, while driving on [XXX] [XXX] from McKinney, TX, to Irving, TX, a red oil can light appeared on my vehicle's dashboard. Shortly after, the car struggled to accelerate. I pulled over, and white smoke began coming through the dashboard vents. Noticing a strong smell, my daughter and I exited the vehicle. We observed fluid leaking on the ground and smoke intensifying. The engine's cooling pipes melt leading to the cooling system failing. This then overheats the engine which leads to dangerous driving conditions. This has been a known issue in other Range Rover VINs and also affects this one.

I HAVE A BRAND NEW 2019 RANGE ROVER SPORT. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ON 3/29/2019 AND IN 7.5 MONTHS I ONLY HAVE 4,194 MILES SO IT SHOWS I DON'T DRIVE MUCH. I TOOK MY FIRST ROAD TRIP TO VISIT MY SON AND I MUST SAY I ONLY STOP FOR GAS ONE TIME. AS I'M DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY EVERYTHING WAS GREAT UNTIL I GOT NEAR RICHMOND VIRGINIA AND MY LOW COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT AND NOTICED THAT ALL OF MY COOLANT WAS COMING OUT FROM THE BOTTOM. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED FOR A TOW AND MY CAR WAS TAKEN TO LANDROVER OF RICHMOND. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT A PEBBLE OR ROAD DEBRIS 3CM WIDE HIT THE RADIATOR AND CAUSED THE COOLANT TO COME AND IN TURN FRIED THE ENGINE. THIS IS CRAZINESS FOR A VEHICLE THAT COST $80K. I'M INSURED BY PROGRESSIVE AND MY VEHICLE IS NOW DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BECAUSE IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE & RADIATOR WORTH $33K. I'M AT A LOST RIGHT NOW. THIS PROBLEM SOUNDS IDENTICAL TO WHAT THE RECENT RECALL SHOWS, BUT MY VIN# IS NOT INCLUDED. REALLY LEADS ME TO BELIEVE I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
