THIS IS A MERCEDES SPRINTER WITH A FREIGHTLINER NAME PLATE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VAN WILL NOT START. THIS IS NOT A UNCOMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS SPRINTER . IT IS THE TOPIC OF MANY INTERNET CHAT BOARDS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A SPRINTER DEALER AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM BUT IT CONTINUES TO INTERMITTENTLY NOT START. I BELIEVE MERCEDES KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. *TR

Manufacturer communications
A bulletin sent by a manufacturer to its dealers. Not a recall, and repairs are not necessarily free.
EQUIPMENT
The dinette flipdown support & footrest assembly does not have adequate support when in the sleep position. The driver side dinette top is not mounted against the sidewall, so the dinette support hinge is not overtop of the dinette cabinet base as intended. There is a possibility of the hinge letting go and the assembly to become loose. On the passenger side dinette table a flip-down support needs to be installed.
EQUIPMENT
The Zamp solar panels were not being secured to the roof through the galvanized backing as intended.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
