2014 Lexus ES 300H Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2014 Lexus ES 300H, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

THE BUTTON TO START AND START THE VEHICLE IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE RADIO BUTTON. BOTH BUTTONS ARE PUSHED TO TURN THEM ON AND OFF. I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE ENGINE START BUTTON INSTEAD OF THE RADIO BUTTON, ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING, BRAKES AND ENGINE. IN ORDER TO RESTART I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE, HAD THIS OCCURRED AT ANY SPEED OTHER THAN THE VERY LOW SPEED I WAS GOING, IT WOULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND AT A MINIMUM NEED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPROGRAMMED TO PREVENT IT FROM BEING TURNED OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. *TR

THE CAR WAS PARKED FOR A FEW HOT DAYS AND THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED AT SOME POINT WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. THE CRACK APPEARED FROM THE BOTTOM SLIGHTLY TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER LOOKING AT IT FROM INSIDE THE CAR. IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE AN IMPACT OF ANY TYPE. I ASSUME IT IS A DEFECT IN THE WINDOW OR HOW THEY ARE MOUNTED.
