Complaints grouped by the component NHTSA recorded
Percentages are of component mentions. A single complaint can name more than one component, so these do not sum to the total complaint count.
No recalls in our database for this model year
That does not guarantee a specific vehicle is unaffected — recalls are issued against VINs, and new campaigns are announced regularly. Check a VIN on NHTSA.gov.

HEIGHT CONTROL FOR REAR AIR SUSPENSION BOTTOMS OUT AND THE VEHICLE BOUNCE VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING AND THE CONTROL SWITCH FOR THE HEIGHT IS STUCK IN NEUTRAL
THE SUNROOF DOOR IS RUSTED ALL OVER THE METAL SURROUNDING THE GLASS ON THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE ROOF OF THE CAR IS OK BUT I FEAR THE RUST WILL EVENTUALLY GET THERE. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE SUNROOF DOOR MIGHT GET DETACHED WHILE DRIVING AND MAY CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAVE SPOKE TO THE LOCAL LEXUS DEALER AND THEY SAY THERE IS NO CAMPAIGN OR RECALL ON THE ISSUE. MY CAR IS ALWAYS IN THE GARAGE WHILE NOT IN USE AND THERE IS NO LEAK ON THE DOOR SO I BELIEVE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE MATERIAL USED ON THIS MODEL. I HAVE ANOTHER LEXUS A 2000 GS 400 AND THE SUNROOF DOOR IS IN PERFECT CONDITION. I HAVE SPOKE TO OTHER GS 470 OWNER AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I WILL APPRECIATE FROM YOU TO INVESTIGATE WHY IS THIS HAPPENING WITH THIS MODEL BEFORE THERE IS AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THANKS.
DASHBOARD/COVER CRACKS OVER THE (1) ODOMETER ASSEMBLY AND (2) GLOVE COMPARTMENTS. THESE MAY AFFECT THE AIR BAGS IN THOSE AREAS. I BOUGHT THIS USED AT AROUND 95000 MILES ON JANUARY 20, 2018 FROM INFINITY BERMAN LA SALLE ST CHICAGO ILLINOIS. I READ THERE WERE PREVIOUS REPORTS ON DASHBOARD FOR EARLIER GX470 BUT THIS IS NOT COVERED. CARFAX REPORT FOR THIS VIN DOES NOT HAVE REPORTED ACCIDENT OR DAMAGE.
CRACKED DASHBOARD.
- ENTIRE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY SHAKES AND VIBRATES WHILE DRIVING ANYWHERE BETWEEN 40MPH - 65MPH. DOES NOT VIBRATE WHEN NOT ACCELERATING OR COASTING. - ENTIRE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING AND CHIPPING.
HIT SIDE ROAD ON HIGHWAY THAT WAS GRAVEL. TURNED WHEEL TO GET BACK ON HIGHWAY AND SUV ROLLED 1 1/2 TIMES - HAD TAKEN IT IN A COUPLE YEARS PRIOR DUE TO BACK WHEELS NOT BEING STABLE ON GRAVEL ROADS AND WAS TOLD THE STABILITY CONTROL WAS FINE WHICH IT WASN'T.
DASH IS CRACKING
NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE SINCE BEING NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL MONTHS AGO. RECALL NO. 16V-065

TSB: Vehicles may display evidence of a fluid leak or fluid seep from powertrain components. This bulletin explains how to determine the differences between a fluid leak versus a fluid seep. Cases that are determined to be a ?leak? should be repaired accordingly and will be covered under warranty if applicable. Cases that are determined to be a ?seep? should be documented on the repair order and inspected at the next service interval. Follow the Repair Information in this bulletin to determine if the concern in question is a fluid leak or fluid seep and review the Repair Procedure section to address this condition.
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
Complaint and recall counts across every year of this model
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
