What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2011 Lexus LS, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Each component in detail
What the reports in each category say, in the owners' own words
Brakes
Reports naming service brakes, the antilock braking system, brake hoses, master cylinders or the parking brake.
From owner reports, verbatim
My dashboard is melting which creates a glare while driving! Unable to see threw front windshield do to the glare from the sun reflecting off the dash! All interior trim components starts melting inside the car when it's hot outside! Also my brake actuator and abs braking system went out!
ABS Modulator has failed on mine and thousands of owners across the US & the World. Toyota/Lexus knows about this and has issued TSIB's for several models including the LS460 from 2007-2017 up to a certain mileage. My vehicle has too many miles to be included in this, but the safety of my vehicle is in serious risk due to a problem that they have known about for many years, but have failed to do a recall on all of these vehicles. The repair costs on average $2,000 to $4,000.00.

From owner reports, verbatim
Steering system makes noise when the steering wheel is turned. The steering has a "sticking" characteristic on the highway, making it unsafe to drive due to minor adjustments over center causing the steering rack to temporarily "lock up", then dart left or right when more force is applied. Owner contacted Lexus Corporate about this issue, but they were uncooperative.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
