Went to my car on Saturday @630p to put items in my car for church the next morning. I couldn't get into my car and my car wasn't responding to my key fobs. I called the Lexus service and was closed. I got on my app and called roadside service. As I was walking (pacing) in my garage, I noticed my rear passenger tire was flat! I asked the AAA rep about my tire. He said no replacement was in my car and the tire isn't inflated with air, but foam. Additionally, he noted me not driving the car may have drained my battery. Which was about 73% last I drove it. When he looked at my car and jumped it, he noted my 2nd battery was drained. He didn't know why. He had me leave the car running for an hour after he left. I did and the car turned off automatically after 1 hour. I called both the service department at your location and AAA on Monday morning. On Monday 8/10/2026, I got the car towed and called Gabb6 at the service center. Upon further review, the SOS button is malfunctioning and is killing my battery. Tuesday 8/11/2026, tire will be replaced but there is no solution for the malfunction other than disconnecting the SOS feature, which is a safety hazard in case anything happens. I understand there are multiple vehicles at this moment at the dealership with this issue. This should be recalled as if families with small children or citizens have an issue and connect get to their phones, the SOS feature should be functional.

Incident one: I was locked out of my car and needed to call Lexus roadside assistance for help. The technician struggled with the mechanical override to open the car, but was able to force it eventually. He explained the 12V battery was dead. There was nothing left on that would have drained the battery. Incident two: The following week, I was able to enter the vehicle and turn it partially on but was not able to drive the car and after I turned off the power, I was trapped in the vehicle. Lexus roadside assistance came again and jump-started the 12V battery. I left it at the dealership behind another brand new Lexus RZ with the same issue!

This a new 2026 electric car with an~80% charge in the traction battery. Unfortunately the 12 V battery failed after I got into the car and closed the car door. Nothing on the car worked including the door locks leaving me trapped. Fortunately I had my phone with me so I could call for assistance. I shudder to think if I had not or if my grand kids had been playing in the car while we weren’t around. . In talking to Lexus roadside assistance something similar had occurred in south Florida that required a 911 call to save the guy inside. This is a serious problem.

The Component Affected: Electrical System / Drivetrain Propulsion. The Core Hazard: Systemic software/hardware defect causing a total failure of the 12V auxiliary system, resulting in immediate vehicle blackouts and leaving the vehicle stranded without warning. The Safety Risk: The vehicle leaves passengers and young children completely stranded in high-traffic or unsafe environments. Note that this platform is heavily affected by the active June 18, 2026 electrical system shutdown recall (NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V393), and the unresolved 12V parasitic battery loops present an ongoing safety risk of sudden power loss. The Timeline: State that the vehicle has suffered three consecutive electrical dropouts in less than 2,147 miles, with the first failure documented by a dealer battery replacement at just 12 miles.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
