2026 Lexus Rz Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Went to my car on Saturday @630p to put items in my car for church the next morning. I couldn't get into my car and my car wasn't responding to my key fobs. I called the Lexus service and was closed. I got on my app and called roadside service. As I was walking (pacing) in my garage, I noticed my rear passenger tire was flat! I asked the AAA rep about my tire. He said no replacement was in my car and the tire isn't inflated with air, but foam. Additionally, he noted me not driving the car may have drained my battery. Which was about 73% last I drove it. When he looked at my car and jumped it, he noted my 2nd battery was drained. He didn't know why. He had me leave the car running for an hour after he left. I did and the car turned off automatically after 1 hour. I called both the service department at your location and AAA on Monday morning. On Monday 8/10/2026, I got the car towed and called Gabb6 at the service center. Upon further review, the SOS button is malfunctioning and is killing my battery. Tuesday 8/11/2026, tire will be replaced but there is no solution for the malfunction other than disconnecting the SOS feature, which is a safety hazard in case anything happens. I understand there are multiple vehicles at this moment at the dealership with this issue. This should be recalled as if families with small children or citizens have an issue and connect get to their phones, the SOS feature should be functional.

Incident one: I was locked out of my car and needed to call Lexus roadside assistance for help. The technician struggled with the mechanical override to open the car, but was able to force it eventually. He explained the 12V battery was dead. There was nothing left on that would have drained the battery. Incident two: The following week, I was able to enter the vehicle and turn it partially on but was not able to drive the car and after I turned off the power, I was trapped in the vehicle. Lexus roadside assistance came again and jump-started the 12V battery. I left it at the dealership behind another brand new Lexus RZ with the same issue!

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
