Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

Safety recallsA safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.

InvestigationsNHTSA opens an investigation to examine whether a safety defect may exist. An open investigation is not a determination that a defect exists, and many investigations close without a recall. Investigations can, however, lead to one.
0
Crash or fire reportedComplaints whose submitter recorded that a crash or a fire occurred. These are the reporter's own answers on the NHTSA form, not verified findings.

STRUCTURE

Apr 8, 2019
355 units potentially affected
The defect: Load Trail LLC (Load Trail) is recalling certain 2018-2019 83"x14' and 83"x 16' Tandem Axle, and 83"x16' Triple Axle Dump trailers with the 621-scissor hoist option. Under heavy loads, the bolts that attach the hydraulic cylinder clevis to the scissor hoist can break.
The risk: If the bolts break, the hydraulic cylinder may disengage from the scissor hoist, causing the dump box to lower back down onto the trailer frame at a rapid rate, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy: Load Trail will notify owners, and dealers will add bracing and replace the clevis bolts with bolts that can support heavy loads, replacing any damaged parts as necessary, free of charge. The recall began June 6, 2019. Owners may contact Load Trail customer service at 1-903-783-3900.

Tires & wheels
Filed May 5, 2023

235-75-17.5 load rating J. Speed rating L. These are trailer tires. I pitched them brand new and had them installed by a local tire shop. I have purchased a total of four tires and every one blew out. These tires have lasted from 100 miles up to 2000 miles. Every tire has had the same symptom. The tire explodes and the tread comes off in one piece. These tires have been checked many times right before they have exploded without showing any signs of wear or defect. All tires have been inflated to their operation pressures listed on the tire. When they explode, it is extremely violent and drags the trailer to one side. Luckily, I haven’t had anyone next to me when this happens. I am a skilled professional driver, but for someone that isn’t, this can cause an accident very easily. I have two of the tires that failed and is available for inspection. I feel these tires are being sold as new virgin tires, but are actually recap tires. The tire sellers information is being hidden from me by Amazon.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers. Older model years have had longer for reports to accumulate.
