TITLE - Carconfig update on EmiraDS. REASON - A new Carconfig file is available on EmiraDS to support any future ECU (Electronic Control Unit) software upgrades. Because the Carconfig is a common file shared across all ECU software packages, the “New Software Available” notification will be displayed on multiple ECUs, (except for CPC, EIS, EMS, FSCM, and TCM 2L ECUs). Important - This does not necessarily indicate that a specific upgrade is required for each ECU listed, but if a software notification is also available for the DDM (Driver Door Module), upgrading the DDM first will clear the notification for all other ECUs that do not have individually applicable upgrades. ACTION - If a vehicle connected to EmiraDS is displaying the “New Software Available” notification across multiple ECUs, then check to see if software notification is also available for the DDM. Upgrade the DDM first and then check to see if the “New Software Available” notification on other ECU’s has now been deleted.

TITLE Availability of Emira service replacement lower front wishbone ball joint dust covers. REASON An unfinished rough edge, on the steering knuckle assemblies (hub carriers), can, under full suspension/steering movement, contact the lower wishbone ball joint dust cover, resulting in premature wear or damage to the dust cover. Service level dust covers are now available which prevent the replacement of complete front lower wishbones assemblies and associated labour times for suspension/steering alignment procedures because of split or damaged ball joint dust covers. ACTION If damage to the ball joint dust cover as shown above is seen during an underbody inspection (such as routine servicing etc), but the ball joint is still in a serviceable condition, then the rough edge of the steering knuckle casting should be smoothed and the ball joint dust cover replaced.

Odometer mileage adjustment implications of module substitutions on Emira vehicles. For security, necessary data collection and to ensure the correct vehicle mileage is maintained in the event of a DIM/DHU (Driver Information Module/Display Head Unit) replacement, other specific modules as well as the odometer are constantly recording information such as vehicle speed, operating hours and the total vehicle mileage at the same time. Modules Recording Mileage Data Emira DIM (Driver Information Module) SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) module CEM (Central Electronic Module) VDDM (Vehicle Dynamics Domain Module) ECM (Electronic Control Module) Sometimes components including modules are taken either from stock or substituted/swapped over from other vehicles available to aid in diagnosing the cause of a fault with an owner’s vehicle. Any of the modules listed above must NEVER be fitted from a ‘donor’ (correctly functioning vehicle) for this purpose, as once connected to the faulty vehicle, the module with the highest mileage will overwrite the current recorded mileage stored in ALL those modules to that higher mileage. Never be tempted to swap over any of the modules shown on page 1 of the bulletin for either diagnostic fault finding purposes, or in an attempt to get an Emira back on the road.

Checking the pyrotechnic seat belt pre-tensioner harness connector for security. The SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) seat belt pre-tensioner harness connectors are fitted with locking tabs to ensure their security to their pretensioner/seat belt reel assemblies. It cannot be confirmed if the locking tabs to the 2023 - 2025 model year VIN range* have been correctly secured during the production build process. *Safe VIN from SCCLEJAX1SHA11255. There is a possibility that the harness connectors may loosen or disconnect if the locking tabs are not secured, which may result in inoperative seat belt pre-tensioners and a warning message being displayed in the driver display module (SRS Service Required). Note: The mechanical locking functionality of the seat belts will still operate as normal even if the warning message is displayed.

Fitment of tail lamp link lead harnesses to prevent rear tail lamp failure. Under a specific usage condition* one or both of the rear tail lamps can stop illuminating. *Hazard warning lights have been continuously activated for a prolonged time period with the ignition off and the tailgate closed. Turning the ignition on or opening the tailgate will reactivate the position lights, but the turn indicator fault will remain. Only turning on the engine will reactivate the CEM and correct the turn indicator fault. Link leads fitted between the engine compartment harness and rear lamp connector plugs are now fitted as a production running change to resolve this issue. The actions of this bulletin supersede the contents of Technical Service Bulletin TSB-131-26004 which affected 2024/2025 model year 4-cylinder vehicles only.

Availability of ASO exhaust muffler (rear silencer) valve actuator as service replacement part. Until recently the failure of the exhaust muffler valve actuator has required the exhaust muffler and valve to be renewed as a complete assembly. The exhaust muffler valve actuator is now available as a separate replacement part. The advantages of not having to replace the combined assembly are for a faulty actuator are: - Less labour-intensive procedure to replace. - More practical to keep an exhaust muffler valve actuator as a parts stock item. If an exhaust muffler valve actuator is diagnosed as faulty then please determine if the exhaust flow valve mechanism in the rear silencer is operating and moving correctly*, if it is then please fit a new valve actuator instead of a complete muffler assembly. *Actuator replacement is only suitable if the exhaust flow valve mechanism in the rear silencer is operating and moving correctly. If the exhaust flow valve is not operating or seized, then the exhaust silencer or actuator assembly should be replaced.
