1992 Mazda 929 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 1992 Mazda 929, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

NO SUMMARY LISTED FOR ABOV EVEHICLE. *AK

NHTSA ID 717617 · filed Jan 20, 2000

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND NEEDED TO SLOW FOR CONSTRUCTION ZONE. CRUISE WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. TURNED SWITCH OFF. HIT BRAKE. EVEN PUT CAR INTO NEUTRAL FOR A SHORT TIME BUT SPEED CONTROL WOULD NOT DISENGAGE. HAD TO RIDE BRAKES ABOUT 5 MILES IN CONSTRUCTION ZONE BETWEEN TRACTOR TRAILERS BEFORE HAVING CHANCE TO GET OFF AND STOP THE CAR. THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF FOR 15 MINUTES. I PAID $420 TO REPLACE PADS AND TWO ROTORS AFTER THE INCIDENT. THIS IS QUITE DANGEROUS. IT ALSO HAPPENED LAST YEAR AND WE HAD CRUISE CONTROL COMPONENTS REPLACED BY MONTGOMERY MAZDA IN CHARLOTTE, NC. *AK

THE VEHICLE ENGINE STARTED UP AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS AND PREVIOUSLY STALLED ON 9 OTHER OCCASIONS. ALL INCIDENTS OCCURRED DURING DECELERATION. ON 08/14/06, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHO DETERMINED THAT WIRE PLUGS CONNECTED TO THE ENGINE OR THE IGNITION COULD HAVE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE HAD AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. *AK
