2015 Mobilityworks Ford E-350 Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

WHILE THIS VEHICLE (A SCHOOL BUS, WITH STUDENTS ABOARD), WAS BEING OPERATED ON THE A CITY STREET, THE SCHOOL BUS STOPPED AT A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE SCHOOL WOULD NOT THEN MOVE FORWARD OR BACK REGARDLESS OF THE GEAR SELECTED. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO ANY GEAR. THE SCHOOL BUS WAS TOWED TO FORD AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE COAST CLUTCH DRUM, RETURN SPRING AND COAST CLUTCH HUB ASSEMBLY SPLINES DAMAGED. AFTER REPLACEMENT VEHICLES TRANSMISSION SHIFTS AND ENGAGES ALL GEARS. THIS BREAK DOWN RESULTED IN HAVING TO TRANSFER SPECIAL NEED STUDENTS FROM ONE BUS TO ANOTHER IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION.

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
