2009 Monaco Coach Camelot Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

What this page shows

Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2009 Monaco Coach Camelot, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.

Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 MONACO COACH CAMELOT RV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE FIVE AWNINGS ON THE VEHICLE WOULD BECOME UNSECURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE SPRINGS INSIDE THE AWNINGS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY TIGHTENING THE SPRINGS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES AND THEY SENT HIM A MOTOR FOR THE AWNINGS. THE MOTOR WAS NEVER INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,000. THE SLIDE OUT HYDRAULIC PUMP ON OUR 2009 MONACO MOTORHOME FAILED AND LEAKED HYDRAULIC FLUID. THIS PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT FIRE AND SAFETY ISSUE. MONACO DECLARED BANKRUPTCY AND LIPPERT INDUSTRIES, THE MANUFACTURER OF THE HYDRAULIC PUMP, HAS REFUSED TO WARRANTY THIS UNIT IN SPITE OF IT BEING 15 MONTHS OLD FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. THE MOTORHOME WEBSITE BLOGS ARE REPLETE WITH FAILURES RELATIVE TO THIS HYDRAULIC PUMP. NOT ONLY SHOULD THE COMPANY SOLVE THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH THEIR PRODUCT BUT THEY SHOULD WARRANTY THE SAME. MY MOTORHOME IS A 2009 MONACO CAMELOT . THE OLD UNIT IS AVAILABLE AND I AM WAITING FOR A NEW PUMP WHICH LIPPERT IS CHARGING ME $1,489.00 FOR. BASED ON WHAT I HAVE READ I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THE NEW PUMP WILL NOT FAIL AS MANY OTHER HAVE EXPERIENCED THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. *TR
