The contact owns a 2018 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Motorcycle. The contact stated while riding 40-45 MPH, the rear brake was depressed but failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue riding the motorcycle while using the front brake lever only. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear brake pedal had failed. The contact stated that the independent mechanic bled the brake line as per the manufacturer's instructions on an unknown TSB. The contact stated that the failure recurred while riding. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic who bled the brake line however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to their location for diagnostic testing. The contact declined because the dealer location was 6 hours away. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 500.
