What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 National Rv Palisades, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

I WAS PULLING A 5TH WHEEL TRAILER, WEIGHING AROUND 13,000LBS. DRIVING ON I-25 AT 65 MPH, THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE GENERAL TIRE, MODEL AMERI*550AS ON THE TIRE. THE TIRE DID NOT BLOW OUT. I DID NOT REALIZE THE PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED AND WAS DRIVING ON THE BELT OF THE TIRE FOR SEVERAL MILES. HAD THE TIRE BLEW, THE TRAILER MAY HAVE FLIPPED CAUSING EXTENSIVE VEHICLE DAMAGE AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. THE TIRE WAS INFLATED TO 75 PSI PRIOR TO DEPARTING ON THE TRIP.
