1983 Nissan Maxima Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

AFTER CHECKING THE RECALL SECTION ON THE NHTSA WEB PAGE AND FINDING NO RECALLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, I DECIDED TO LOOK AT THE CONSUMER COMPLAINTS AND FOUND A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND NOTED IN THE TEXT OF OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATIONS ID # 808550 A RECALL #95I000600, AT WHICH TIME I CALLED THE HOTLINE AND WAS TOLD THAT IN SPITE OF HAVING A RECALL # , THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. MY QUESTION IS, HOW CAN THERE BE A RECALL # IF THERE IS NO RECALL? *MJS
