The engine and transmission do not run smoothly. It hesitates, and it doesn’t downshift correctly. The engine revs up and will not shift gears properly. It’s jerky. Everything about this engine and transmission feels strange for a luxury car. Sometimes, I don’t feel safe trying to pass somebody. You wouldn’t know how bad of a ride this car is from a 20-minute or even a 10-minute test drive. It’s something you have to own and experience to understand. Whatever they did with this car feels unsafe to drive, especially with the engine stuttering and hesitating the way it does. And I only have 7,700 miles on my car.

The contact owns a 2026 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH and depressing the brake pedal to avoid sudden merging traffic and to decelerate, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. The brake pedal was depressed to come to a complete stop and another vehicle behind avoided crashing in to the rear of the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the instrument panel rebooted independently. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it remained for further investigation. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the same local dealer where the trunk was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,890.

I was going down a hill and when I tried to slow down the brakes went to the floor and I hit the drive gear button twice and it went back to normal. I did not notice anything on the dash screens that I am aware of.

The 2026 Nissan Murano is a great vehicle, but often times the infotainment display freezes and the restart remedy provided by Nissan does not work either. That is an annoyance but the rear view camera which is a standard safety feature on vehicles does not display either. With the only way to fix the issue is by letting the cats computer sit for a few hours and fully turn off. It has occured many times.
