The seat belt on front passenger side has got stuck and won't come out at all to secure the passenger in their seat making this seat entire unusable. The vehicle has not been in any accident or anything like that. It just got stuck by itself even with just regular use. With only 62000 miles.
Passenger side seat belt does not lock when doing the sharp pull test. Dealer wants $150 diagnostic fee to check it out. If there is an accident, the passenger may not be protected by the seat belt.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt locking mechanism had malfunctioned and was sometimes difficult to lock and unlock. The contact stated that the locking mechanism had become stuck and would not immediately unlock and release on multiple occasions. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.

The contact stated that after buckling the passenger’s side seat belt, the light turned off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ORS unit sensor needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact that the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The approximate failure mileage was 29,500.
We have a 2016 Nissan Rogue that is under the Recall ID. 22V-024. We have the water damage and that caused the wiring harness to malfunction. Nissan Dealership fixed the Harness problem but not fix the cause of this happening. We are getting water seeping up from the Drivers side floor. I Shop Vac and use a fan to dry it out but the water returns. On the recall letter from Nissan it states in Bold lettering #1 " Please stop driving your vehicle immediately and call Nissan." #2 "Park your vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures."By not fixing the root cause of the problem the harness will malfunction again which could lead to a fire inside the vehicle which is quite a safety issue. Nissan is aware of this problem but is refusing to fix the problem. Nissan Dealership had this vehicle in there possession for 5 weeks in July, 20222, into August, 2022,
My wife Lois (84) was driving the car. she was alone. The air bags on the passenger side exploded and sprayed her with its contents that appear to me to be deadly and can cause death or brain injury. The explosion caused her to move the car and she was bumped by a vehicle on the drivers side. That damage was very very slight. The big cost was the air bags. I have to pay for that because Allstate would not cover it because they said it was the air bags fault that they do not cover. I think that is correct. While the 7K cost hurts it is nothing compared to what this did to my wife. She is a very intelligent person with excellent memory. She ran our household paying all bills etc. Since the incident she has lost her short term memory. Now she need consent help with almost everything and we can no longer let her drive. The contact stated that his wife has suffered tremendously mentally due to the airbag explosion. There has been no assistance from the Nissan dealership or the insurance company, and the airbag company is still looking into the issue. As a result, the contact sold the vehicle as a loss.

However, the local dealer informed the contact that the vehicle would be repaired at her own expense. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Unlike other car this car don’t warn for seat belts. Blind spot lights frequently appers for the vehicle even though the vehicle is opposite direction divided highway .while driving the tires makes unpleasant sound like its not aligned properly .
In April 2021 I purchased a 2016 Nissan Rogue. A few times I noticed that I did not have my seatbelt on while driving which for me, is highly unusual because it is the first thing I do once I start my engine. It is the AUDIBLE chime that alerts me. I then specifically started my engine and realized that the car DID NOT have a safety belt CHIME. ( FMVSS 208 S7.3 ) I took it to a Nissan dealer. The technician told me that Nissan DID NOT put a safety belt audible chime in ANY of their vehicles before 2020. I could not believe what I was hearing. Not only is this feature federal law but, it is also in the Nissan owners manual. It is not a feature that can be turned on or off. It is a federal requirement. Nissan is violating federal law and has been doing so for years at the expense of the American people. I am worried for my safety and the safety of others since it is difficult to DISCOVER that there is no audible seat belt safety chime and that it is a safety issue that might prevent one from putting on their seatbelt so that they don’t go flying through the front windshield. Federal law states: “manufacturers have an OPTION. They can EITHER use a seatbelt symbol AND an audible chime OR The words “ Seat Belt” AND An audible chime”. The audible chime is not an OPTION it is a requirement. The chime is NOT a feature that can be turned on or off in any Nissan vehicle including my 2016 Nissan Rogue. The consumer needs to know about this missing safety feature as per Federal law. I wonder how many lives have been lost because Someone just like me, needed that audible safety belt chime to remind them that their seat belt was not buckled and it cost them their lives. There is a reason that the safety belt safety law has two components. A VISUAL and an AUDIBLE safety belt feature. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards exist for the safety of the American people. With Nissan, this does not seem to matter.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT HAS BECOME FULLY RETRACTED AND IS CURRENTLY IN A LOCKED POSITION WHERE IT WILL NOT PULL OUT AT ALL. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT AND NOTHING HAPPENED AT ALL INVOLVING THE AIRBAG ON THAT SIDE, THIS SITUATION HAS TAKEN PLACE ALL ON ITS OWN AND IS NOW PREVENTING ME FROM CARRYING ANY PASSENGERS IN THE FRONT SEAT DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING OF THAT PARTICULAR SEAT BELT. THIS ISSUE OCCURRED WHILE MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY OWN PARKING SPACE WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF.

TWO CHILDREN IN BACK BOTH IN FF CAR SEATS SECURED W LOWER ANCHOR TETHER.*DT*DT*DT*DT*DT*DT*DT*DT*JB*DT REAR PASSENGER SIDE: 2Y2M MALE IN COSCO ALPHA OMEGA ELITE (DOM 5/17/2011) W/ MINOR INJURIES FEW ABRASIONS, BRUISES ON HEAD, BIT TONGUE. REAR DRIVERS SIDE: 4Y0M MALE 42 INCHES (38.5LBS DURING LAST EXAM, APPROX 2 MO. PRIOR) IN BRITAX FRONTIER CLICKTIGHT XE WHOSE 5 POINT HARNESS PULLED AND BROKE THROUGH THE PLASTIC FRAMING OF THE SHELL. 4Y/O INITIALLY CRYING & WHIMPERING BUT QUICKLY UNRESPONSIVE WENT INTO CARDIAC ARREST AT SCENE. EVENTUALLY REVIVED, BUT DECLARED BRAIN DEAD. REMOVED FROM LIFE SUPPORT 11/15. AUTOPSY CONCLUDES CHILD DIED OF MULTIPLE BLUNT FORCE INJURIES: ACUTE SUBDURAL & SUBARACHNOID HEMORRHAGE, CEREBRAL SWELLING W/ HERNIATION, HIS, SKULL FXS, PULMONARY CONTUSIONS CAR SEATS REMAINED INSTALLED. EVALUATED IN-VEHICLE 11/14 BY MSP OFFICER WHO IS CPST. NOTED: FRONTIER INSTALLED USING LA STRAP WHICH WAS PROPERLY ATTACHED, ROUTED, & LOCKED TO THE VEHICLE SLAG, TETHER STRAP PROPERLY ROUTED UNDER HER AND ATTACHED TO TA. APPROX. 4 IN. OF SIDE TO SIDE & FORWARD MVMT OF FRONTIER. FROM OFFICERS REPORT: THE 5 POINT HARNESS PULLED AND BROKE THROUGH THE PLASTIC FRAMING OF THE SHELL, CAUSING THE HARNESS AND ADJUSTABLE PORTION OF THE SEAT TO COME FORWARD, WITH THE FRAME STILL BEING ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE CHILD WAS FIRST CONTACTED AFTER THE CRASH IT WAS DESCRIBED TO OFFICERS THAT HE WAS "HUNCHED OVER". (BRITAX THEN UNINSTALLED) I OBSERVED BROKEN PIECES TO INCLUDE A METAL SPRING AND PLASTIC PARTS ON THE VEHICLE SEAT, UNDERNEATH THE CSS. THESE PARTS WERE BROKEN FROM THE BRITAX SAFETY SEAT. FURTHER DAMAGE WAS FOUND TO THE SHELL OF THE SEAT, TO INCLUDE THE HARNESS ROUTING PATH AND MULTIPLE LOCATIONS TO THE REAR OF THE SEAT. THE SEATBELT IS STUCK
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HIS PARENTS WHO OWNED A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S FATHER SUFFERED A DIABETIC SEIZURE. AS A RESULT, HE CROSSED OVER THE MEDIAN AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NEITHER OF HIS PARENTS WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. BOTH PARENTS WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE AND WERE PRONOUNCED DECEASED 36 HOURS LATER. POLICE REPORT NUMBER: 2019-3451 WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED OR IF THE EVENT DATA RECORDER WAS INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED IF THE VEHICLE HAD AN AUDIBLE CHIME TO REMIND THE OCCUPANTS WHEN THEIR SEAT BELTS WERE NOT SECURED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. MAJOR ACCIDENT, SWERVED TO AVOID A DEER AND HIT A POLE. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS BUCKLED AND SEAT BELT DID NOT GET. MY HEAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD, REQUIRING 8 STAPLES IN MY HEAD. HAD THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD INJURIES TO THE EXTENT I DID.*DT
SEAT BELT - BACK DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT FASTEN. THE METAL PORTION OF THE BELT WOULD NOT "CLICK" INTO THE SEAT PIECE. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 30 DAYS AGO FROM CARMAX, SO IT IS COVERED BY THEIR 30-DAY WARRANTY. HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THIS ISSUE REVIEWED AND RESOLVED AT THE END OF THIS MONTH.
MY SEAT BELT WILL NOT COME OUT TO SECURELY BUCKLE IN MY PASSENGERS. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE SEAT FRAMEWORK WHICH IS PINCHING THE SEATBELT.

THE VEHICLE RECEIVED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER, RADIATOR, AIR VENT, THE COMPRESSOR TO THE AIR CONDITIONER, AND UNDERCARRIAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED ARM, SHOULDER, AND NECK INJURIES. THE FRONT PASSENGER RECEIVED HEAD, NECK, SHOULDER, BACK, AND KNEE INJURIES. THE REAR PASSENGER RECEIVED NECK INJURIES. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED FOR THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER OF THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY REPAIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED.
