2014 Nissan Sentra Problems

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a mass air flow sensor failure under DTC: P0101. The contact was informed that the mass air flow sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated, and the RPM became elevated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the ECM software needed to be recalibrated. The contact was advised to contact the dealer for assistance. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.

Transmission failed, as I went to turn left it stalled and on coming traffic had to slam on there brakes and 6 veh. Ran into each other i dud not get hit but feel so bad that the 2914 nissan sentra i drive caused this traffic hazard. 2 people had to go to the hospital. It should be illegal to sell these cars with ctv Transmission Nissan sould have to put reg. Transmission in all there veh. Already sold and any to be sold and NHTSA Should be fined for not doing your jobs. These vehicles. ARE a safety hazard. After Nissan dealership updated ECM on 6/1/2026, the MIL came on with code p0101. This causes the car to go into limo mode while driving on the highway. I took car back to Nissan who said they needed to clean the wires, which they did and cleared the code. Again while driving the car went into limo mode. Nissan now says I needed an $8,000 new computer. Again the car went into limo mode while driving. The car can be driven but randomly goes into limo mode. This only happened immediately after the ECM update in June 2026, and may cause an accident if it continues to randomly go into limo mode.

While driving, I noticed smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. Within moments, flames appeared in the engine area and spread quickly, causing severe damage to the front portion of the car including the engine, electrical system, and body. No warning lamps, error messages, or unusual behavior were observed prior to the incident. The fire started suddenly without any indication of mechanical or electrical issues. My safety and the safety of others nearby were put at risk as the fire escalated rapidly. The problem has not been reproduced or inspected by the manufacturer or dealer yet, but the vehicle was completely disabled and is no longer operable due to the fire damage. Cause of the fire is UNKNOWN at this time.

The vehicle sustained major damage in a collision totaling the vehicle and no airbags deployed

On 6/22/25, I was in a side-impact collision while turning into a gas station. A driver waved me through, but another car came rushing through the outer lane and hit the front passenger side of my 2014 Nissan Sentra. The impact caused serious damage, but none of the airbags deployed. There were no warning lights before or after. My hip hit the emergency brake during the collision. I felt okay at first, but I’m starting to notice some discomfort now. I also have scoliosis, which makes even small impacts something I have to watch closely. My VIN shows no recalls, but I’ve found this model has had known airbag issues. I’m reporting this as a serious safety failure. If this had happened at higher speeds, it could’ve been fatal.

My rear view camera is not making any noise to let me know if somebody is behind me or I’m getting to close to something. Almost hit somebody!

I thought it was my suspension or that it needed a wheel alignment but after paying for those to get renewed it’s still having that problem and the mechanic said it was most likely the transmission.

The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the oxygen sensor, rotors, and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. While driving, the vehicle started to stall. The brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle was slow to respond. The manufacturer was contacted and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

The tail light on the drivers rear has condensation. Therefore, my brake lights flicker. When putting the parking lights/headlights on, the power to the gas pedal is cut. RPMs go down and the car simply does not have power to accelerate.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Nissan Sentra. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a private sale. However, the seller had an LLC. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 96,642. It was later discovered that the mileage on the title was 229,347 on January 6, 2026. When the vehicle was registered in Florida, the mileage was 96,642 on February 2, 2026. The contact discovered the discrepancy from a Carfax Report.

I've looked up the years of my vehicle and the year 2014 falls within transmission problems. Cvt to be exact. My transmission just went out and zero chance of fixing. $5000 minimum. Cut has been known to have faults

The car will not shift into third or accelerate over 2,000 rpms

I driving but running down and my engineer light show up Can't moves Can't put the steering...I tried put button off and on for running but not..i praying God,It running to my apartment [XXX].And it death right on road apartment..The morning i tried to running to dealer car check it..They said Gearbox death the car need change .I said I will running back to my apartment and call let your guy know because my car just: 66.080 miles. it still has warranty engineer. please check help me early. I have had 2 rebuilt transmission and a manifold replacement and my vehicle still does not run at 100%

HI I HAVE 3 ISSUES WITH MY CAR, IT'S A 2014 NISSAN CENTRA, THE FIRST ISSUE IS THE TRANSMISSION IT'S REALLY BAD I HAVE ALREADY TOO IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AN SAID THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BUT IT'S STILL DOING THE SAME THING, WHEN YOU GO TO TAKE OFF FROM A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN IT WANTS TO HESITATE TAKING OFF, IT SPITTING AND JERKS AND THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T WANT TO CHANGE GEARS, I HAVE A AUTOMATIC BUT IT ACTS LIKE A STRAIGHT SHIFT SO WHEN IT HESITATES I HAVE TO PUSH THE GAS NOR TO GET IT TO GO BUT IF YOU MASH THE GAS TO HARD IT WILL TAKE OFF FAST AFTER IT SPITS, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS, I HAVE ALMOST SLAMMED INTO THE BACK OF A FEW VEHICLES BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE TRIED TO PULL OUT FROM A SIDE ROAD AND A CAR WOULD BE COMING AN I KNOW I HAVE TIME TO GET OUT BUT WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WANTS TO ACT CRAZY AN IT STARTS HESITATING TO GO, I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES. THAT'S NOT ALL MY OTHER ISSUE IS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER, THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IT HAS WENT OUT IN THE LAST YEAR, I WENT AND HAD IT SERVICED AN THEY SAID IT WAS THE AIR COMPRESSOR, I TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS AND THE GUY THAT LOOKED AT IT HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAS HAD 47 NISSAN CENTRAS IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS TO BE SERVICED FOR THE SAME REASONS, WELL ONE DAY THE AIR CONDITIONING WAS FINE BUT THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO TURN IT ON AND IT IS BLOWING NOTHING BUT HOT AIR SO HE CHECKED IT AND HE SAID THE COMPRESSOR WENT OUT AGAIN!! THE OTHER ISSUE IS YESTERDAY I WENT TO GET DINNER AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AND MY CAR DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 40,000 MILES ON IT YET, I REALLY HOPE WRITING TO YOU ABOUT THESE THINGS GOING WRONG WILL OPEN THE NISSAN COMPANY'S EYES BEFORE SOMEONE ACTUALLY GET KILLED DRIVING ONE OF THEIR CARS. The check engine light keeps coming on with a P0101 indication Mass or Volume Air Flow Curcuit Range/ Performance Problem. The filter was changes, the Mass Air Flow Sensor was changes, and the PCV valve was changed but the light keeps coming on. The vehicle also will not accelerate as fast and sometimes will not go over a certain speed. The vehicle sometimes startes to rolls backwards when in drive when idling. The vehicle also shakes when slowing down from a higher speed i.e. when you are on the freeway and then have to slow to lower speeds no matter how much distance you give. I have almost been rear ended and run backwards at the light because the vehicle goes backwards then goes forward. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR 2014 NISSIAN OWNERS.

IBUY IT FROM GARLAND TX IT WAS JUST FINE IN THEN FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG STAY OFF

When I was driving through a residential neighborhood going about 30 mph the hood latch assembly snapped right there where it is bolted down to the frame which entailed smashed my windshield and dented my hood so therefore I don't feel I should be held responsible to replace them if it wasn't an act due cause of me. I feel that the hood latch assembly failed on your guys's end so it must be a faulty part on my car. I feel like then you should be responsible for not only replacing my whole life assembly but also fixing my windshield and my hood cuz this was not an issue caused on my behalf it was on you guys cuz how does a hood latch assembly break like that

I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT APRIL 7TH AT 9:30 PM. I WAS DRIVING DOWN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH KEEPING MY WINDOWS FROM FOGGING UP AND HAD TAKEN MY EYES OUT FROM THE ROAD TO LOOK AT MY DEFROST KNOBS TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. WHEN I LOOKED BACK UP, THERE WAS A TRUCK STOPPED AT THE INTERSECTION WHICH I HIT DEAD ON AT A SPEED OF 40MPH. I BELIEVE I HAD ENOUGH TIME TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND START TO APPLY MY BRAKE BEFORE COLLIDING INTO THE REAR OF THE TRUCK. ALTHOUGH I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT, IT DID NOT LOCK UP , ALLOWING MY BODY TO BE THROWN INTO THE STEERING WHEEL & DASHBOARD AND THUS FRACTURING MY LOWER BACK AND TIBIA ON LEFT LEG. IN ADDITION TO THE LACERATION ON MY LIVER AND BLEEDING ( INTERNAL BLEEDING) AROUND MY PELVIC BONE. MY SEATBELT RESTRAINT DID NOT LOCK AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY UNTIL AFTER MY CHEST HIT STEERING WHEEL. THESE 2 MALFUNCTIONS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED MUCH MORE SERIOUS INJURIES, EVEN DEATH. Both rear running lights blew at the same time, so i bought New ones, plugged them jn for them to still not work. Heard there was a recall on other versions of my vehicle.

AS I WAS DRIVING OR TURNING, CAR WOULD HESITATE, SPEED WOULD DROP EVEN THOUGH FOOT STILL ON ACCELERATOR. TURNS OUT HAD MOISTURE IN DRIVER'S BRAKE LIGHT WHICH CAUSED CAR SWITCH TO BRAKE THEREBY CAUSING JERKING HESITATION. DANGEROUS BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH CAR SLOWED DOWN, BRAKE LIGHTS NOT LIT, DANGEROUS TO DRIVERS BEHIND ME. LIGHT REPLACED DUE TO SEAL ALLOWING MOISTURE IN.

MY CAR JERKS, SLOW ACCELERATION, FAST ACCELERATION, GRINDING, SLIPPING OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION.

THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND OFF FOR OVER 4 MONTHS. I ALSO GOT A PAPER NOTICE ONTO MY HOUSE SAYING THE AIRBAGS FOR ONE OR A FEW OF OUR CARS HAD A RECALL. I CHECKED ONLINE AND MY CAR WAS ONE OF THEM.
