Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2019 Nissan Titan, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Reports naming the engine itself — including stalling, misfires, oil consumption, cooling and internal engine components.

The torque converter on my 2019 Nissan Titan PRO-4X failed at approximately 60,000 miles. Symptoms began as cold-start shudder lasting several minutes, progressing to pronounced shudder under light throttle acceleration between 25–50 MPH, erratic shifting at the 3-4 and 4-5 gear transitions, and TCC (torque converter clutch) slip. These symptoms created unpredictable drivetrain behavior at highway speeds, presenting a safety risk to myself and other drivers. The problem was diagnosed and confirmed by an independent service center using live PCM data. TCC slip readings of -27/748 RPM were recorded during a test drive, matching the failure criteria specified in Nissan Technical Service Bulletin NTB22-099A, which Nissan issued to address this exact torque converter defect in this model. The repair — torque converter remove and replace using OE parts — is currently underway. The failed component is available for inspection upon request. Warning symptoms (cold-start shudder and light-throttle shudder) were present for approximately one month before the failure became undriveable. Nissan was contacted regarding the known defect and declined to provide assistance, citing warranty expiration. The TSB coverage window for this defect expired approximately eight months before symptoms became acute.
Worst dealership my husband and I ever dealt with. We purchased a 2019 Nissan XD Titan Diesel with warranty. Two days after purchase, the check engine light came on. I called Spencer from the service department to let them know. They took the truck the very next day; it was some issue with the gas tank, so the part was back-ordered. After getting that fixed, the check engine light still never went off. I questioned the dealership; all they could say was it was probably a dirty sensor. Then, not even two weeks later, I was leaving a doctor's appointment on the interstate when it threw up a code for low coolant, saying it was about to go into limp mode. So, I made it to the dealership's service station. They said it was okay and couldn't find anything wrong with it, then told me to just keep driving it until it broke down or delete it if it was them. They said, 'You know, we don't deal with a lot of diesel, so it may need to go to another dealership.' Then, two months went by, and we had more issues. We ended up back at the dealership to find out that it now had an oil leak that was quoted to us as a $14,000 job for parts and labor. We also had extended warranty and powertrain, but Spencer failed to file the warranty claim correctly the first time and filed under the wrong warranty, so they denied it. We had to call management to get them to check why, and the problem was that the service department didn't know how to file the correct warranty claim. After that was submitted, my husband asked Spencer directly and the service department if they did rentals through our warranty. They said they don't give rentals at that dealership. Note that we found out later through our warranty that they did pay, but we weren't given that chance. After picking up the vehicle, the check engine light was still on !!! there’s so much more details to the story!!!!!
Electrical
Reports naming the electrical system — wiring, battery, charging, control modules, infotainment and electrical accessories.

Vehicle came to a complete stop while driving and left me stranded 40 miles from home. The vehicle would not start with push button start and following diagnostics from dealership was found to have suffered multiple blown fuses to ECM. The technicians could not determine the cause of the failure.

Purchased from Coparts end of March 2024 2019 Nissan Titan Xd S [XXX] ) Arrived with no keys, no batteries, other engine parts missing. we thought it would run once we got keys and battery for it because it had less than 13,000 miles on it. Connecting bar seems broke, oil pan was off so no oil. Afraid to try to turn over because of all the issues until the engine is pulled and inspected. We feel we received a lemon for it to be in such bad shape with less than 13,000 miles. Plus sold without catalytic converter, thought that was illegal. Can anything be done to help us? These are NHTSA recalled tires for my 2019 Nissan Titan. I had them inspected (via the recall) at Cedar Park Nissan and even though they showed major sidewall issues (peeling, tread chunk missing, etc.), I was told they were a non-issue. I brought them in a 2nd time because the peeling and marring of tire look like major issues - they dismissed it. These are one of the tire models you state in your "Part 573 Safety Recall Report 21V-169". Specifically "Continental Tire 265/70 R18 116S TL Grabber HTS ". My wife and I were driving home with our 8 and 10 year old sons in the truck when the tire completely blew out and we were able to avoid a collision and wreck by the grace of God. I have photos and I have contacted Cedar Park Nissan (the customer service rep would not connect me with anyone in management or authority and said it was my responsibility to find them sometime). I am fine with new tires - or pursuing a lawsuit and getting as much as court will allow. Nissan's choice. Your help would be appreciated, since this is a defective tire and is in the description of a tire the NHTSA deemed as defective. No warnings given - other than the recall the NHTSA issues that Cedar park Nissan deemed unnecessary. The previous symptoms have already been noted, as Cedar Park Nissan was made aware of them 2 times and sent us away without help. The other 3 tires look poor, as I previously showed them twice now.
The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Titan equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Wrangler SR-A, Tire Size: P275/60/R20, DOT Number: M6YN EXER4518. The contact stated while driving 80 MPH, the rear driver's side tire experienced a blowout. The contact was able to control the vehicle and veered to the side of the road. The contact replaced the defective tire with the spare tire and continued to drive the vehicle. The tire was original equipment. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The tire was not inspected. The tire and vehicle failure mileage were approximately 24,060.

I purchased this vehicle on 05/16/23, four days later the check engine light along with the ABS and traction control light came on. I took the truck to the dealership service center, after a week I was called to pick up the truck. On the way home the same lights came on again. I returned the truck to the service center for repair. After two weeks I was called to pick up the truck. Two days later the lights have came back on. After checking several forums online I noticed that there were many people with the same truck experiencing the exact same problem.
I rented vehicle from Budget rent a car system. The electrical engine computer system components malfunctioned and went out while I was driving. The rental car company sold or destroyed the vehicle upon request. My safety was compromised involving me in a accident. The Nissan Dealerships in Philadelphia & Ohio confirmed several unresolved recalls. The vehicle was inspected by Nissan Dealership after accident on behalf of Budget Rent a Car but Nissan dealership refused to fix recalls on a wrecked vehicle. When rented from airport the vehicle appeared to be fine until electrical issues caused vehicle to become powerless causing wreck.
