The defect: A CLIP ON THE SHIFTER MECHANISM INSIDE THE CONSOLE MAY BECOME DISLODGED PREVENTING INDICATION OF THE CORRECT GEAR SELECTION UNDER CONDITIONS OF DARKNESS.
The risk: THE CLIP COULD ALSO BIND PART OF THE SHIFTER MECHANISMIN A WAY WHICH WOULD PREVENT GEAR DETENTS FROM OPERATING THIS COULD CAUSEUNDESIRED GEAR POSITION. THIS COULD CAUSE VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
The remedy: THE CLIP WILL BE REPLACED TO PRECLUDE THE CONDITION FROM OCCURING.
