The defect
A CLIP ON THE SHIFTER MECHANISM INSIDE THE CONSOLE MAY BECOME DISLODGED PREVENTING INDICATION OF THE CORRECT GEAR SELECTION UNDER CONDITIONS OF DARKNESS.
The risk
THE CLIP COULD ALSO BIND PART OF THE SHIFTER MECHANISMIN A WAY WHICH WOULD PREVENT GEAR DETENTS FROM OPERATING THIS COULD CAUSEUNDESIRED GEAR POSITION. THIS COULD CAUSE VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING.
The remedy
THE CLIP WILL BE REPLACED TO PRECLUDE THE CONDITION FROM OCCURING.
