TEAM ONE AUTO AT 12899 GARRETT HIGHWAY IN OAKLAND, MARYLAND (PHONE: 301-334-9494) SELLS THE OREION MOTORS REEPER LOW-SPEED MOTOR VEHICLE. OREION MOTORS IS LOCATED AT 331 ACADEMY DRIVE, CORRALES, NEW MEXICO 87048 (PHONE: 505-916-1206). THE OREION REEPER'S ENGINE IS MOUNTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE, DIRECTLY BEHIND AND BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION STICK FORWARD THROUGH A LARGE OPENING IN THE STEEL ENGINE FIREWALL BETWEEN THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS AND THE ENGINE. THERE IS NO FIRE-PROOF SAFETY COVER OVER THE ENGINE FIREWALL OPENING. ALL THAT SEPARATES THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS FROM THE ENGINE IS A FLIMSY PIECE OF PLASTIC WITH A VERY LOW MELTING TEMPERATURE. IF THERE WAS EVER AN ENGINE FIRE IN THE VEHICLE THE CENTER CONSOLE COVER WOULD MELT ALMOST INSTANTLY, A RUBBER GASOLINE HOSE ATTACHED TO THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE MIGHT ALSO MELT AND THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS COULD SUFFER SEVERE BURNS AS A MELTED FUEL HOSE WOULD SQUIRT FUEL DIRECTLY INTO THE DRIVER / PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE REAL QUESTION: WHY IS THE COVER OVER THE ENGINE FLIMSY PLASTIC INSTEAD OF STEEL?
