The defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Peterbilt 220, 2022-2026 Kenworth K370, and 2020-2026 K270 Medium-Duty Battery Electric Vehicles. The cradle harness may have a loose electrical connection that can cause a loss of drive power.
The risk: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the cradle harness as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 8, 2025. Owners may contact Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220 and Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 25KWD and 25PBD.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

"(KW): Certain Kenworth K270 and K370 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) chassis equipped with certain DANA cradle harnesses may intermittently lose electrical continuity at one or more C40 connector pins. This can occur without warning and cause loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. Certified BEV technicians will inspect the C40 connector and replace the cradle harness, if necessary. This safety recall defect is identical to 25KWD and applies to certain Canadian chassis added on 07/02/2026. (PB): Certain Peterbilt Model 220 Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) chassis equipped with certain DANA cradle harnesses may intermittently lose electrical continuity at one or more C40 connector pins. CARB Label Procedure Update The repair procedure removes the aftermarket change request, adds GHG label inspection, and directs dealers to open a TCS365 case to order new labels. Warranty codes for inspection and label replacement have been updated. Certain Battery Electric Vehicles that are subject to California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations have GHG labels that are missing the CARB Enhanced EV and FCEV Statement.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

A photo of the two ring terminals and a caution statement have been added to the Dana Cradle Harness Removal and Installation Procedure. Safety Recall Parts and procedures are now available. Interim flagging has been removed from chassis in the PACCAR Registration and Warranty System and will now display the safety recall number. Refer to Bulletin 99-048 for details. The chassis affected population has increased.
