The defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Peterbilt 365, 367, 389, 535, 536, 537, 548, 567, 579, and 2021-2025 Kenworth T180, T280, T380, T480, T680, T880 and W990 trucks. The right-hand gear shifter stalk connectors may have been improperly crimped, resulting in a loss of communication.
The risk: A loss of communication between the gear shifter and the transmission may result in the vehicle becoming disabled after coming to a stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the gear shifter assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed December 15, 2025, then phased after that. Owners may contact Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5888 or Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 24PBE and 24KWE.

The defect: PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Peterbilt 535, 536, 537, 548, and Kenworth T180, T280, T380, T480 trucks. The glass lock ring on the cab mirror assembly may not be fully seated, allowing the mirror glass to detach.
The risk: A detached mirror glass can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect the mirror glass lock ring and repair it as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed February 23, 2024. Owners may contact Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5888 and/or Peterbilt customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 24KWA and 24PBA.

The right-hand shift stalk may have an improper wire harness terminal crimp within the wire harness connector. Loss of communication between the right-hand shift stalk and the vehicle may result in the vehicle being disabled after it comes to a stop, thereby increasing the risk of crash or injury. A warning will appear on the dash display when communication is lost, including transmission or engine warnings, “!” next to DNR/DNRP indicator, “-“ in the DNR/DNRP indicator, and/or chimes, depending upon whether you are operating a diesel/gas or battery electric vehicle.

Info Only Unnecessary starter replacements can result from customer complaints regarding engine starting issues. A new Starter Troubleshooting Guide has been created to provide a comprehensive list of starting system checks, which should reduce unnecessary starter replacements and associated warranty claims. Engine starting system warranty claims now require a completed Starter Checklist, a Battery Pack Midtronics Report, and a Cable Drop Midtronics Report. Claims filed without these documents may be denied.

Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
