2024 Porsche 911 Owner Complaints

On XXX, less than 24 hours after an authorized Porsche dealer released this 2024 911 as a successfully completed repair with the diagnostic codes cleared and no root cause documented, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power while traveling at highway speed. It entered limp mode with severe deceleration and displayed a red engine control error, forcing an emergency lane change across traffic to reach a parking lot. After stopping, an active and significant fluid leak was observed trailing from the engine compartment, creating a fire risk. The 12-volt electrical system then died and the vehicle required a jump-start. After power was restored, the transmission would not engage Park and displayed "P not available. Park on level ground only," creating a rollaway risk. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, a passenger who was approximately [XXX] pregnant, and two small children. The three distinct safety failures were the sudden loss of motive power at highway speed, the active fluid leak with fire risk, and the loss of Park capability after the electrical failure. Warning messages appeared during the event as described. The vehicle remains at the authorized dealer and is undiagnosed as of this submission, and is available for inspection upon request. Woke up one morning and noticed a very strong gas smell coming from the car while driving with the windows down, even at low speed. Once I noticed the smell I stopped driving and exited the vehicle and again noted the very strong smell. I immediately took the car to the nearest Porsche service dealership in Beverly Hills. The repair was covered by warranty, and the issue was found to be due to a leakage from the fuel supply line that runs from the fuel tank to the engine. This is a very serious issue that I find dangerous had I not immediately noticed. The part was replaced with the same component, not a better version (as Porsche has not manufactured one). I was told this same issue has occurred with similar cars of this make, model, year.

The glass sunroof exploded out while driving on the road, there were no other cars driving ahead of me as I was on a highway onramp. The car is current at the dealership pending repair. The glass exploded outward and could have hit a car following. The car has been inspected by the dealer and insurance company. There was no prior warning, however the sunroof had a rattle present when closed that the dealer was not able to resolve.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. Heard a ticking noise while driving. Pulled over, on freeway. It was not a safe situation parked on side of a major freeway. Turned off car to look around the engine and found nothing. Started the car again and it died within 5 seconds. The electric system completely died after and would not crank. Got it towed to dealer after waiting for tow truck 3 hours. I was really scared sitting in my that someone would crash into me. Dealer has now the engine apart diagnosing it. It is a failed engine and will need a brand new motor.
