The defect: Reading Truck Equipment, LLC (Reading) is recalling certain 2021-2024 dump body trucks. Inadequate clearance may allow the hood to contact the main electrical fuse terminal.
The risk: Contact with the main fuse terminal can cause electrical arcing, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy: Dealers will inspect and relocate fuse terminal and fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 25, 2024. Owners may contact Reading customer service at 1-800-458-2226.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
