What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (Winnebago) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Winnebago Forza motorhomes. The liquid propane (LP) lines may have been installed without edge protection where the LP lines pass through the closeout panel, possibly resulting in the lines being damaged and leaking fuel.

The risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

The remedy

Winnebago will notify owners, and dealers will install edge protection at the closeout panel, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 18, 2019. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
