What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The risk

USING THE WRONG SIZED CLAMPS TO ATTACH THE RIM AND TIREASSEMBLY TO THE WHEEL SPOKES COULD CAUSE THE STUDS THAT ATTACH THE CLAMPS TO THESPOKES TO BEND. IF THE STUDS ARE BENT, THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF STUDFRACTURE THAT COULD RESULT IN THE RIM AND TIRE ASSEMBLY BREAKING FROM THEWHEEL.

The remedy

REPLACE THE CLAMPS AND STUDS ON THE CAST SPOKE WHEELS.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
