What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

THE LEVELING JACK HYDRAULIC HOSE LINES ARE ROUTED CLOSE TO THE ENGINE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS CAN CAUSE THE HOSE TO MELT AND RESULT IN A HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAK ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

The risk

HYDRAULIC FLUID MAY DRIP ONTO THE HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND IGNITE CAUSING A FIRE. ALSO, LOSS OF LEVELING JACK HYDRAULIC FLUID WOULD MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO RAISE OR LOWER THE LEVELING JACKS.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE AND RELOCATE THE AFFECTED HYDRAULIC LINE.

Notes

SYSTEM: EQUIPMENT: JACKS.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORHOMES.NOTE: IF YOUR VEHICLE IS PRESENTED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND THE REMEDY IS NOT PROVIDED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME OR THE REMEDY DOES NOT CORRECT THE DEFECT OR NONCOMPLIANCE, PLEASE CONTACT FLEETWOOD SERVICE CENTER AT 1-800-854-4755. ALSO, CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-800-424-9393.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
