WE WERE TRAVELING ON RTE 95 IN MAINE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN WE HEARD A LOUD "WIND" SOUND. WE EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND NOTED THE WINDSHIELD AT THE TOP CENTER WAS CAVING IN. WE SUPPORTED THE WINDSHIELD FROM BEHIND WITH PAPER TOWEL ROLL'S AND THE BACK OF THE UPPER COMPARTMENT'S AND CONTINUED TO COHACKIE NEW YORK TO WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED THE RV. THEY MADE A TEMPORARY REPAIR TO GET US TO FLORIDA WHERE WE WERE HEADING TO MEET A DELIVERY TRUCK AT OUR NEW HOME THERE. ALONG THE TRIP, THE TEMPORARY REPAIR HAD FAILED, AND WE HAD RESORTED TO HOLDING THE WINDSHIELD IN-PLACE WITH ROLL'S OF PAPER TOWELS. WE BROUGHT THE RV TO A DEALER IN FORT MYERS FLA. AND THEY MADE THERE OWN "DESIGN" TO REPAIR THE WINDSHIELD. THIS REPAIR HAS WORKED AND IS STILL HOLDING. WE ARE FAMILIAR WITH AT LEAST ONE OTHER REXHALL THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, AND A REXHALL SERVICEMAN SAID IT WAS NOT A UNCOMMON PROBLEM. HAD WE NOT TAKEN THE AFOREMENTIONED ACTION'S AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE ON I BELIEVE A CASTROPHOBIC ACCIDENT MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE HAPPENED.
