2001 Skyline Aljo Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 SKYLINE ALJO. THE VEHICLE HAS A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL RM2652. THE CONTACT NOTICED A YELLOWISH RESIDUE SURROUNDING HIS EQUIPMENT AS WELL AS AN AMMONIA LEAK. HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08E032000 (EQUIPMENT) AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE MANUFACTURER. A TECHNICIAN FROM A LOCAL RV REPAIR SHOP ADVISED HIM THAT IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1,500 TO REPLACE. THE UNIT HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE NOT APPLICABLE. UPDATED 2/20/09 *CN THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD ONLY ADDITIONAL MATERIALS WOULD BE INSTALLED TO LESSEN THE DAMAGE IF A FIRE OCCURRED. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED 2 REFRIGERATORS FAILURES. THE FIRST FAILURE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SECOND FAILURE, THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE REFRIGERATOR COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AND THE ONLY OPTION WAS A REPLACEMENT. UPDATED 02/23/09. *JB
