The defect: CERTAIN TRUCK CAMPERS, FIFTH WHEEL AND TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH A TWO-DOOR REFRIGERATOR, MANUFACTURED BY THE DOMETIC CORPORATION, MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE BOILER TUBE. PRESSURIZED COOLANT SOLUTION COULD BE RELEASED INTO AN AREA WHERE AN IGNITION SOURCE (GAS FLAME) IS PRESENT.
The risk: RELEASE OF COOLANT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS COULD IGNITE AND RESULT IN A FIRE.
The remedy: SKYLINE WILL BE WORKING WITH DOMETIC IN ORDER TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS (PLEASE SEE 06E076). DOMETIC WILL REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS BY INSTALLING A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, A THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FREE OF CHARGE. DOMETIC HAS RETAINED STERICYCLE INC. TO MANAGE THIS CAMPAIGN. STERICYCLE WILL ASSIST YOU IN LOCATING DEALERSHIPS OR SERVICE CENTERS AND WILL PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH SCHEDULING OF APPOINTMENTS. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DOMETIC/STERICYCLE AT 1-888-446-5157 OR SKYLINE AT 1-574-294-6521.

The defect: ON CERTAIN "SPORTWAGON" OR "RAMPAGE" TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH THE OPTIONAL GENERATOR/FUELING STATION, THERE IS NO CHECK VALVE INSTALLED IN THE FUELING STATION WHICH COULD CAUSE GASOLINE TO SIPHON OUT.
The risk: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD CAUSE A FIRE.
The remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A CHECK VALVE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN FEBRUARY 3, 2003. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT SKYLINE AT 1-800-755-6521.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SKYLINE ALJO. THE VEHICLE HAS A DOMETIC REFRIGERATOR, MODEL RM2652. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V074000 (EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE) AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED A LOCAL RV SERVICE STATION. UPON INSPECTION, A TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT INSTALL A SECONDARY BURN HOUSING, THERMAL FUSE, AND A MELT FUSE FOR FREE BECAUSE THE UNIT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED. THE UNIT IS CURRENTLY INOPERATIVE. HE IS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE NOT APPLICABLE. UPDATED 03-06-09 *BF THE CONSUMER TOOK THE RV TO BE REAPIRED, HOWEVER WHEN THE THE COVER WAS REMOVED THERE WAS YELLOW RESIDUE AND THE SMELL OF AMMONIA. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO NEED TO HAVE THE RECALL PERFORMED SINCE THE UNIT HAD ALREADY FAILED. UPDATED 03/12/09. *JB
