What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 Skyline Sun Haven, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

From owner reports, verbatim
WHILE DRIVING WEST ON INTERSTATE 30 APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES FROM MR. VERNON, TX THE LEFT FRONT TIRE ON MY TRAVEL TRAILER LOST ITS TREAD. THE TREAD WRAPPED AROUND THE BRAKE AND BLEW INTO THE WHEEL WELL DAMAGING THE VANITY, BREAKING THE WATER LINES AND DAMAGING THE INTERIOR OF THE TRAILER. DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER WAS ESTIMATED AT $1400.00. THIS WAS ONE TIME OCCURRENCE. I REPLACED THE TIRE WITH THE SPARE, REMOVED THE TREAD AND STOPPED THE WATER FLOW. I EVENTUALLY TURNED THE TIRE OVER TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND FILED A CLAIM WITH THE TIRE MANUFACTURER, AMERICAN GENERAL NOW CONTINENTAL TIRE. THE TIRE DID NOT GO FLAT HOWEVER AFTER PARKING THE TRAILER THE TIRE DID LOOSE ITS PRESSURE. I HAD TO REMOVE THE BRAKE DRUM AND REPAIR THE ELECTRIC BRAKE WIRES SO I COULD CONTINUE ON TO MY DESTINATION. I HAVE FILED A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY WHO IS SUBROGATING AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
