2002 Starcraft Travel Trailer Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

DT: THE PIN BOX ON THE FIFTH WHEEL CAME LOOSE. THE FIFTH WHEEL WAS PARKED WHEN THIS WAS NOTICED. THE CONSUMER HAD A CERTIFIED WELDER COME AND WELD THE PART BACK TOGETHER BEFORE THE CONSUMER COULD GET BACK HOME FROM VACATION. THE STARCRAFT COMPANY TRIED TO STRAIGHTEN AND MAKE IT STRONGER. THE STARCRAFT SKS 310 IS THE MODEL ON THIS COMPLAINT. *NM THE GAP BETWEEN IT AND THE FLOOR WAS MADE IT EVIDENT THAT THE PIN BOX WELD WERE GAPED AND THE PIN BOX ITSELF WAS NO LONGER PARALLEL WITH THE FRAME. THE PROBLEM RECURRED. THE CONSUMER HEARD NOISES COMING FROM THE BEDROOM AREA. THE FRONT WALL WAS CURRENTLY CURVED INWARD AT THE BOTTOM. *SC *JB
