Our database holds 3 NHTSA owner-reported complaints for the 2015 Subaru BRZ. Each one is a report filed by an owner or driver and published by NHTSA without most of them being verified. A complaint is not a confirmed defect, not a recall and not a manufacturer bulletin. Narratives are shown exactly as filed.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

Seatbelts, both driver and passenger side will remain locked and in the retracted position unable to be fastened if the car is parked facing up a steep hill. Not until the car is moved to level ground can the seatbelts be put on.
MY VEHICLE SEEMS TO BE LEAKING ENGINE OIL ONTO THE EXHAUST. WHENEVER I DRIVE FOR MORE THAN 5-10 MINUTES, THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL IS OVERWHELMING WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR THE PAST 12 MOS., AND I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE FUTURE POTENTIAL FOR AN ENGINE BAY FIRE, NOT TO MENTION THE POTENTIAL IMPACT OF INHALING THE FUMES FROM BURNING OIL EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
