The defect: FUEL FILLER AND VENT HOSE CAME OFF DURING FMVSS 301 COMPLIANCE TEST.
The risk: SEPARATION OF FUEL FILLER AND VENT HOSE FROM FUEL TANKCAUSES FUEL TO SPILL FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE SPILLED FUEL COULD CATCH FIRE NEARAN IGNITION SOURCE; VEHICLE WOULD NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS 301.
The remedy: TIGHTEN THE CLAMPS HOLDING THE HOSES TO THE TANK AND THE FUEL FILLER TUBE.
