2000 Thor California Tahoe Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

I HAD JUST RETURNED FROM A TRIP TO LOS ANGELES. WHEN WE WERE UNLOADING OUR TRAILER I NOTICED ONE OF THE WHEELS WAS AT A ANGLE ON CLOSER EXAMINATION I FOUND THAT THE CENTER HAD COME LOOSE FROM THE WHEEL. I REMOVED THE WHEEL AND FOUND THAT THE WELDS HAD BROKEN HOLDING THE CENTER TO THE WHEEL THE WELDS DO NOT HAVE WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER PROPER PENETRATION. THEY ALSO WERE DIRTY AND RUSTY INDICATING THEY HAD BEEN BROKEN FOR A WHILE THERE IS ALSO SCRUB MARKS SHOWING THAT THE CENTER WAS MOVING BACK AND FORTH ON THE WHEEL. I HAVE PICTURES I CAN SEND IF NEEDED. THESE ARE MADE BY INTERO PARENT COMPANY IS CARLISLE. I KNOW THEY HAVE HAD OTHER RECALLS FOR THERE TRAILER PRODUCTS. THE TRAILER IS A 2000 TAHOE 33FT 5TH WHEEL TRANSPORTER THE WHEELS WERE MADE 12 OF 1999. I KNOW THIS WAS 8 YEARS AGO BUT THIS WHEEL SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AND THERE ARE A LOT OF THESE TRAILERS OUT THERE. *TR
